There were six features of men‟s speech that were found and used by Jane out of six features. The features were directive and assertive, instrumentality, status and control, conversational dominance, not highly responsive, and abstract.

1. Direct and Assertive

Men‟s speech is more direct, forceful, and authoritative rather than women‟s speech because men aim to take and hold their position when they talke. Jane used three imperative statements when she asked one of her team members to give her the video recording of the failed assassination to find the „player‟. She used two expressions of command to show her superiority. Jane‟s utterances were included as direct and assertive because her utterance was absolute and forceful toward her team. Dialogue 16 Jane : Why don’t you both go make some coffee? Jasmine : Jane, it‟s your husband. He‟s back from Atlanta and he wants to know about dinner. Jane : Tell him... Dinner‟s at seven. There were two expressions of assertive that were found in this dialogue. This conversation happened in Jane‟s office between Jane and her team members. She realized about something and gave some advice for two of her team members who sit the front of the monitor to make some coffees. Her utterance was included as assertive because the way she talked was directly and authoritatively. Actually, she wanted to find out about something secretly in the monitor and expelled the girls forcefully. Jane was looking at the video and realized that it was her husband when her husband suddenly called. John on the other hand, already knew the fact that Jane was the assassin that shot him in the desert. He asked Jane about the dinner and she used an imperative statement to order Jasmine to tell her husband that the dinner starts at seven.
