CHAPTER IV REASERCH FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION
This chapter presents the process of the research conducted in Cycle I and Cycle II, the result of the research and the interpretation of the findings. Each
cycle in this research consists of planning, action and observation, and reflection. This chapter also presents the quantitative data obtained throughout the research
to support the qualitative data. The details of the processes are presented below.
A. Research Findings
1. Identification of the Field Problems
To identify the problems in the field, the researcher made a preliminary observation. The researcher interviewed the teacher and the students of VII D and
observed the teaching learning process of VII D. Based on the classroom observation, then, the researcher presented a vignette which explains the process
of English teaching and learning. The vignette would show a preliminary observation data.
The class was begun at 06.50. Some of students were very noisy when the teacher came to the class. Most of them were not ready to study yet. They
were busy with themselves such as talking to their friends, playing games, and eating some foods.
The English teacher Mrs. Ratih opened the class. Then, she greeted students and asked the students to pray together. Then, she checked the
students’ attendance. She called them one by one. There were no students who came late and all students came to class.

answered the questions. Then, the teacher wrote the outline of students had to do. The teacher gave the examples of how to pronounce some words and the
students repeated it after the teacher. With instruction by the teacher, they opened the English book. Then, the teacher asked the students to perform the
dialogue based on the material but they were shy. They were not confident to do it. The teacher asked the students to do the task in pairs. Many of students did
not know the meaning of some words. After that, they wrote their pair works in the white board. The others student gave command their friend work. One
student gave the wrong answer. The class must be finished at 08.40 but the teacher finished the class at 08.25 because she wanted to researcher to introduce
