was up to 11.06 score per student. It could be seen that the mean of reading accuracy in the pre-test was 79.37 and in the post-test was 91.03. The score of reading speed in
a minute also improved. Each student could read faster achieving 23 more words per minute. The score of reading prosody improved in small amount. The standard
deviation of both reading accuracy and reading rate decreased. It indicated that the data points were spread in narrower variation. In the other words, the variations of the
students’ score reduced. Whereas, the standard deviation of the reading prosody increased. It indicated that the variations of
the students’ score increased.
C. Conclusions of Reading Fluency Test
The implementation of multimedia running text in teaching reading fluency was successful in improving the students’ accuracy, rate and prosody of reading in
two cycles. To get the validity of the data, I provided the results of reading fluency test assessed by the collabolator and by myself. The result of pre-test and post-test of
the students’ reading fluency was presented in the following table 6:

The result of the students’ reading fluency in the pre-test
From the Table 6, based on the researcher’s assessment, it was found that the means of the students’ reading accuracy, rate and fluency were 79.37; 105.90; 61.64.
Meanwhile, based on the English teacher’s assessment, it was found that the means of
the students’ reading accuracy, rate and fluency were 79.59; 105.76; 62.77. The averages of researcher’s and teacher’s score were 79.48 for reading accuracy, 105.83
for reading rate and 62.2 for reading prosody. In the post-test, both the researcher and the English teacher assessed the
students’ reading fluency ability scores by using the same rubric. Based on the researcher’s assessment, it was found that the means of the students’ reading
accuracy, rate and fluency were 91.03; 128.24; 69.14. Meanwhile, based on the English teacher’s assessment, it was found that the means of the students’ reading
accu racy, rate and fluency were 90.56; 128.62; 70.79. The averages of researcher’s
and teacher’s score were 90.80 for reading accuracy, 128.43 for reading rate and 69.97 for reading prosody. The details of the result could be seen in the appendix 7.
The summar y of the students’ scores in the post-test was presented in the Table 7

The table concluded that based the researcher’s and the teacher’s assessment, the reading accuracy, rate and prosody scores improved by
implementing multimedia running text. To make the data clearer, the researcher presents the data in the following chart:
