F. Data Collection Instruments
There were two instruments of questionnaires guidelines which were used in collecting the data. Those are needs analysis questionnaires and expert judgment
questionnaires.
1. Needs Analysis Questionnaires
Needs analysis questionnaires were distributed to the students of the eighth grades SMP N 3 Tempel to get information about the target needs and the learning

The second questionnaire was used to obtain data from the expert to evaluate the writing materials. It was aimed to find the respondent
’s opinions and suggestions for revising the developed materials. The questions were adapted
from Instrument Penilaian Buku Bahasa Inggris SMP by BSNP.
