F. Research Procedure
In doing this research, the researcher did several steps. They are:
1. Asking Permission
On 24
th
March 2011, the researcher met the lecturer of class B of Paragraph Writing in order to tell about the research that the researcher was doing,
to ask the permission from the lecturer to copy students’ written work of their Progress Test II and to conduct the interview to the students from her class.
2. Collecting Students’ Written Work
After obtaining the permission to conduct the research, the researcher started collecting students’ written work. After all students finished doing their
Progress Test II in the classroom, the researcher met the lecturer in order to borrow students’ written work and then to copy it.
3. Conducting the Interview
Having done the previous steps, the researcher, then, interviewed eight students who were regarded as those making various errors in subject-verb
agreement. Before the interview began, the researcher explained the purpose and the sequence of the interview to the interviewees. Afterwards, the researcher
started asking the questions to them.

4. Analyzing Data
After gathering all the data, both the data from students’ written work of their Progress Test II and from the interview, the researcher started analyzing
them. The researcher, first, analyzed the students’ written work. Then, the researcher started analyzing the data from the interview.
5. Writing the Report of the Analysis
The data in this research were obtained from students’ written work of their Progress Test II. The the researcher also used the result of the interview as
the data of the research. Having finished analyzing the data, the researcher started writing the result of his analysis.

CHAPTER IV RESEARCH RESULTS AND FINDINGS
This chapter presents and discusses the data acquired from the students’ written work and from the result of the interview. Therefore, this chapter is
divided into two sections. The first section deals with the students’ subject-verb agreement errors. It discusses the errors found in the students’ written work.
Besides, it is the answer to the first research question. The second section deals with the factors that caused the students to make the errors. This section discusses
the factors why the students made the errors, which also answers the second research question.
A. The Students’ Subject-Verb Agreement Errors
This section is the answer to the first research question. In this section, there are two main parts, namely data presentation, which presents the number of
errors made by the students, and discussion, which deals with the discussion on the errors made by the students.
1. Data Presentation of the Errors Made by the Students
In order to be able to obtain subject-verb agreement errors made by the students in Class B of Paragraph Writing, the researcher analyzed thirty 30
students’ written work. After analyzing the students’ written work, the researcher found twenty-eight 28 subject-verb agreement errors. The occurence of the
