Metonymy supports the slogan to be more memorable since it is also type of repetition in figure of speech .

6. Anaphora

It is the sixth figure of speech which is frequently used in cigarette advertisement slogans on the internet . As it has been cited in the previous chapter, anaphora is the repetition of words or phrases at the beginning of sequence sentence or paragraph, line of verses or stanzas . From the table above, it can be seen that there are 17 cigarette slogans which are used anaphor . There are two slogans use adjective in repeating, such as slogan 36 fine, 37 super . Lexically, fine can be excellent and super can be excellent too . The use of adjective here is to show the quality of the cigarette which means that “dunhill mild”, the brand of the cigarette, is processed through having the excellent cutting of tobacco to get the greatest cigarette . It means that its products are having good and excellent quality . The second slogan uses adjective, super which shows the quality of the cigarette . From the slogan, it can be assumed that the cigarette has an excellent taste which is produced for excellent people . The other slogans use determiner in their repetitions . The other three slogans repeat different words . They are no in slogan 38, so in slogan 39 and plus in slogan 40 . Plus in slogan 40 has been repeated twice . Plus means advantage and have good feature . Mild can be gentle and calm, and male describes men or boys . Mild plus might mean the cigarette which is in a low standard of nicotine and with good quality . Male plus deals with the young man who has much good characteristics such as good behaviour and attitude . Some people believe that consuming such a mild cigarette may reduce the risk of smoking . It means that the male plus are stil considering the health even though they smoke cigarette . Slogan 40 gives a good rhyme and positive effect toward the hearers or the costumers . It informs the costumers that that Bentoel mild taste better than other because it has low positive standard of nicotine .

7. Asyndeton

It is the seventh figure of speech which is frequently used in cigarette advertisement slogan on the internet . It means the omission of conjunction between word, phrase and related clauses Bussmann 2006 . The most conjunction which missed is “and” . There are eleven slogans which applied asyndenton in their advertisements . Examples: 42 Be cool, be confident, be you by ST . DUPPONT PARIS 43 Cool, calm, confident by ST . DUPPONT PARIS 44 Pleasure, style, confidence by DJARUM SUPER 45 Modern full dynamic by KENEDY 46 Talk less do more by CLASS MILD Clearly, it can be explained that those slogans above omit conjunction “and” between the related words and phrases as well . Slogan 41 until 44 miss “and” between clause and phrase . Thus, the sentence probably will be Be cool , be confident and be you 41, cool, calm and confident 42, Pleasure, style and confidence 43 and modern, full, and dynamic 43 . Meanwhile, slogan 43 needs a conjunction “but” . Slogans 42 to 45 describe the taste of the cigarette by using the word cool and calm which might associated with menthol and show the characteristic of the customer as the effect of smoking the cigarette by using the words pleasure, style, confident, modern, full and dynamic .
