4.2 Findings 1. Transitivity Process

 Short story 1 ―Earth God Shrine‖ Based on the analysis of transitivity process in Earth God Shrine short story, the writer found that it consists of 492 simple clauses which are constructed by the six types of transitivity process. They are material process, mental process, relational process, behavioral process, verbal process, and existential process. The participant consists of conscious and unconscious human. The circumstance consists of circumstance of place, time, and manner of quality. Next, in mental process, the process consists of perception, affection, and cognition type. The participant only consists of conscious human. The circumstance consists of circumstance of place, time, and manner of quality. The circumstance consists of time, place, and purpose. Next, in verbal, the participant consists of conscious human, the circumstance consists of time, place, and manner. This process has no process. In behavioral process, the participant consists of conscious human. The circumstance consists of place and manner off quality. The last one is existential process. In this process, the participant consists of unconscious human, and the circumstance consists of place. It has no process. While, in the second short story A Chip off the Old Block, this short story consists of process, participant, and circumstance. In material process, the process consists of creative and dispositive. The participant consists of conscious human. The circumstance consists of time, place, manner of quality and accompaniment. Next, in mental process, the process consists of perception, affection, and cognition type. The participant consists of conscious human. The circumstance consists of place and time. Further, in relational process, the process consists of attributive and identifying. The participant consists of conscious human and unconscious human. The circumstance consists of time, place, and purpose. Next, in verbal process, the participant consists of conscious human, the circumstance consists of place and manner, and it has no process. In behavioral process, the participant consists of conscious human and it has no process and circumstance. The last one is existential process, the participant consists of unconscious human. CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS

5.1 Conclusions

After analyzing the data, the writer comes up to some conclusions which are described as follows: 1. The type of transitivity process used in Earth God Shrine are material process, mental process, relational process, verbal process, behavioral process, and existential process. While, the type of transitivity process used in A Chip of the Old Block are material process, mental process, relational process, verbal process, behavioral process, and existential process.
