Psychology is a science that studies human behavior through human mind. Therefore, what it means by psychological approach is an approach to the psychological problem as the case of the characters mind and behavior within the novel entitled A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. The psychological approach is chosen because the study is about the love within a father-daughter relationship shown by Dr. Manette and Lucie Manette toward each other. The fact is that love cannot be seen. It is existing only in human mind. What we see in the reality is only the proof if somebody loves somebody else. Therefore, the study of love can only be approach by using psychological approach. Love is related to human mind and psychology is the study of human mind so that makes psychological approach will be the right choice to use in this study.
