5.1 Conclusions

Based on the analysis of the teaching methods and techniques applied at Budi Dharma Kindergarten, during the teaching and learning process in Cherry B Class, I finally could draw some conclusions and suggestions as follows: a. The aim of learning English is for communication use the language rather than studying the language. b. There is no certain formal target for the students in learning English, instead of the evaluation from the teachers about the programmes that they use at certain period. c. In teaching young learners, the relationship and the understanding among the teachers with students, and one student with others are important. d. The important point in teaching language, especially English to young learners is how to give the understanding about the concept of things and actions rather than the verbal words as the representation of those things or actions spoken language. e. The materials taught are about numbers, colours, part of body, things in the class and outside the class, some actions, and simple daily conversation. f. In practicing the teaching – learning process in the class, teachers divide the techniques of teaching English into three processs in which each of them uses different methods; Communicative Approach, Audio-Lingual Method, Total Universitas Sumatera Utara
