Therefore, they always tried to make a good writing. They believed that they needed some processes to make a good writing. For example, in writing descriptive t ext assignment, the students needed their friends’ suggestion and after that they revised it again so that they could have a good writing before their assignment was submitted. Item 8. I have known internet when I was at elementary school. The results of this statement were 80 of the students strongly agreed and 20 agreed that they knew internet when they were at elementary school. None of students chose disagree and strongly disagree. The total percentage of agreement level was 100. Since the percentage level was high, it could be concluded that all of the students agreed that they have known internet when they were at elementary school. This phenomenon happened because nowadays people are living in globalization era where the technology is spread faster. Internet is very useful for people because by using internet they can be linked with others even they do not meet directly. Besides that, the development of Internet has brought people in all ages to access it because they can find anything by using Internet. For example, they can communicate to each other and also playing games. Item 9. I knew internet by myself. In this statement, the result showed that only 6.7 of the students who strongly agreed and 13.3 who agreed with the statement. Then, 70 of the students disagreed and 10 strongly disagreed that they knew internet by 58 themselves. The total percentage of the agreement level was 20 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was 80. It could be seen that most of them knew internet from others even in the Item 8 they agreed that they have known internet when they were at elementary school. Item 10. I often access internet more than 3 times a week. This statement is related to th e students’ intensity in using internet. Pareek 1996, p. 13 said that the external factors are consisted of intensity, measurement, contrast, movement, repetition, familiarity, and something new as cited in Sobur, 2003, p. 452. In other words, perception is influenced by the intensity. The result of the tenth presented that 80 of the students strongly agreed and 20 of the students agreed with the statement. None of the students chose disagree and strongly disagree. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 100. It meant that, all of the students agreed that they often access internet more that 3 times a week. Actually, most of the students have had their own mobile phones which are facilitated with internet connection; because of that they often access internet every day. Moreover, it was also proven by the data from the interview that all of them had access to internet every day. All the students said that they accessed internet in almost every day. It meant that internet have an important role for them. Item 11. I use internet in order to help me doing my assignment. The result of this statement showed that 46.7 of the students strongly agreed and 53.3 agreed that they used internet in order to help them doing their assignments. None of the students chose disagree and strongly disagree. 59 Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 100. It could be seen that all of the students used internet in order to help them doing their assignment; for example to find other sources related to their assignment. Actually, this statement was related to the previous statement. The result of the interview showed that student 26 and 29 said that they accessed internet almost in every day and if there was a difficult subject, they used internet in order to help them doing their assignment. By using internet the students can find other sources related to their assignment so that their assignment can be finished well. Item 12. I use internet in order to access social media or anything else. The result of this statement presented that 76.7 of the students strongly agreed and 23.3 agreed that they used internet in order to access social media or anything else. None of the students disagreed and strongly disagreed. The total percentage of the agreement was 100. It could be seen that all of the students agreed that they used internet in order to access social media or anything else instead of accessing internet for helping them doing their assignment. The result of the interview also showed that student 29 said that the students used internet almost in every day and used it in order to help her doing her assignment and also accessing social media. Nowadays, there are a lot of social media like a Facebook, Twitter, Path, and also Instagram used by the students. Most of them recognized that they used social media in order to communicate and also to share to each other. 60 Item 13. I believe that internet is easy to use. The result of the thirteenth statement showed that 80 of the students strongly agreed and 20 agreed with the statement. None of the student disagreed and strongly disagreed related to the statement that internet was easy to use. The total percentage of the agreement level was 100. Since the agreement level was high, it meant that the students had a positive response towards the statement and all of them realized that internet was easy to use. It was proven by some statements, exactly in the 8 to 12 statements which explained that the students had known internet when they were at elementary school and they often access internet more than 3 times in a week. It meant that internet is easy to use. Item 14. I cannot get internet connection easily. In this statement, 40 of the students strongly agreed and 40 agreed that they cannot get internet connection easily. There were only 20 of the students who disagreed and none of them who strongly disagreed. The total percentage of the agreement level was 80, and then the total percentage of the disagreement level was only 20. Based on the total percentage, it could be seen that most of the students agreed that they could not get internet connection easily. However, some of the students disagreed that they could not get internet connection easily. Even in the previous statement said that they often use internet more than 3 times a week, they have a difficulty to access internet. The problem was that they cannot get internet connection easily though their mobile phone is facilitated with internet. Some of them did not have a strong signal in order to link to internet. It was proven by the result of the interview that there was only one student who 61 disagreed that the student could not get internet connection easily whereas the other agreed. Students 1, 19, 14, 4, and 26 said that they could not get internet connection easily because they often had a lost connection and there is no Wi-Fi. Meanwhile, student 29 said that she did not find any difficulties related to the internet connection. Some of the students used a good provider which provides good signal. Item 15. I am happy when I am accessing internet. The result of this statement showed that 86.7 of the students strongly agreed and only 13.3 agreed with the statement. None of the students disagreed or strongly disagreed. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 100. It means that all of the students agreed that accessing internet makes them happy. It was proven by the fact in the previous statement that the students accessed internet almost in every day. Besides that, their assignment can be finished faster by accessing other sources in the internet and the last one is that they can share and communicate with their friends by using Internet. Most of the students were happy when they were accessing Internet because Internet offered many things for them instead of those advantages. They can play many games, watch movies, and also download some files. Item 16. I believe that internet is very useful for me. In this statement, the result is same as the statement 15. There were 86.7 of the students who strongly agreed and only 13.3 who agreed. None of the students chose disagreed or strongly disagreed. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 100. It meat that all of the students agreed that internet 62 was very useful for them. It was proven by the fact in the previous statement that internet gave many benefits to the students. One of those benefits was that they could do their assignment easier because they could find some sources related to their assignment. Item 17. I do not agree using internet in learning process. The result of the seventeenth statement presented that none of the students strongly agreed or agreed. On the other hand, 30 of the students disagreed and 70 strongly disagreed that they did not agree using internet in learning process. The total percentage of the disagreement level was 100. It could be seen that all of the students agreed to use internet in learning process. They agreed to use internet in learning process because Internet made them easier to find the answers of some questions related to the subjects in learning process. For example they needed to find the person who discovered a lamp then they can access internet and find the answer of that question. Item 18. I have known Edmodo when I was at elementary school. The result of this statement showed that only 6.7 of the students who strongly agreed and none of them who agreed. Meanwhile, there were 23.3 of the students who disagreed and 70 strongly disagreed related to the statement. Based on those results, the total percentage of the agreement level was only 6.7 whereas the total percentage of the disagreement level was 93.3. It meant that most of the students disagreed that they have known Edmodo when they were at elementary school. Although they have known internet when they were at elementary school; they have not known Edmodo before. It means that Edmodo 63 can be the good way to learn English because Edmodo is a something new for them and it makes them interested in using it. Item 19. I knew Edmodo from my teacher. The results of the last statement in this part were 76.7 of the students strongly agreed and only 23.3 agreed with the statement. None of the students chose disagree or strongly disagree. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 100. It could be seen that all the students agreed that they knew Edmodo because of their teacher. Related to the previous statement, the students stated that they have not known Edmodo and in this occasion they knew Edmodo because of their teacher. Therefore, their teacher should help them in order to introduce Edmodo to the students so that they can use it easily. Based on the data and the discussion above, it showed that the result from the questionnaire and interview were almost the same. As stated before, the mean of this category was 3.1 and it was belonging to a positive response towards the st udents’ background. In other words, most of the students had a positive background in learning English because they believed that learning English was important for them and they were interested on it. Besides that, they also had a positive response in writing because the data showed that most of the students were interested in writing; even their writing was not really good they always tried to make a good writing. Meanwhile, almost of the students were interested in accessing internet. They used internet more than three times a week and it was proven by the result of the interview that they used internet almost in every day. Based on the result of the questionnaire, it could be seen that most of the students 64 had a good response through the use of internet in learning process. However, the result showed that most of them did not know about Edmodo and they knew Edmodo from their teacher. Overall, it could be concluded that the students had a positive background in learning English, writing skills, and also on the use of internet and Edmodo.

b. Part B - The implementation of Edmodo in writing descriptive text.

In this section, the researcher discussed the students’ response about the implementation of Edmodo in writing descriptive text. In this part, the particular number related of the close-ended were statements number 20 to 35 and in the open-ended the particular number related was the question number 1. Based on the result from the questionnaire, the mean of this category was 2.9. As stated before, the score 1-2.4 was considered as a negative response, and then the score 2.5-4 was considered as a positive response. Because the mean of this category was 2.9, it could be seen that the students had a positive response towards the implementation of Edmodo in writing descriptive text even though they were not familiar yet. According to Pareek 1996, the external factors of the perception are intensity, measurement, contrast, movement, repetition, familiarity, and something new as cited in Sobur, 2003. It meant that a positive response towards the implementation of Edmodo is influenced by intensity, measurement, contrast, movement, repetition, familiarity, and something new. This is the first time for me using Edmodo. The result of this statement presented that 80 of the students strongly agreed and 16.7 agreed that this was the first time for them using Edmodo. Meanwhile, there was only 3.3 or only 1 student who disagreed and none of them strongly disagreed with the statement. The total percentage of the agreement level was 96.7 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was 3.3. It could be seen that most of the students did not know about Edmodo yet. It considered that they did not experience with Edmodo and only one student who had experienced with Edmodo before. As stated in the previous statement, something which was new for the students could motivate them to learn attractively. It was proven by their attitude that they were so excited when their teacher introduced them with Edmodo in learning English. 66 Item 21. My teacher helps me to use Edmodo in learning process. The result of the statement 21 showed that 40 of the students strongly agreed and 50 agreed that their teacher helped them to use Edmodo in learning process. However, there was 10 of the students who disagreed and none of them strongly disagreed with the statement. The total percentage of the agreement level was 90 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was only 10. Since the agreement level was high, it considered that the students had a positive response towards the statement that their teacher helped them to use Edmodo in learning process. It was proven by the previous statement, in statement 19 showed that 100 of the students agreed that they knew Edmodo because of their teacher. Besides, their teacher also helped them to use it so that the use of Edmodo could be followed easily by them. Item 22. My friends help me to use Edmodo in learning process. The result of the statement 22 presented that 10 of the students strongly agreed and 50 agreed that instead of their teacher, their friends also helped them to use Edmodo in learning process. Meanwhile, there were 13.3 of the students disagreed and 26.7 strongly disagreed with the statement. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was 60 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was 40. It could be seen that some of the students agreed that their friends did not help them to use Edmodo in learning process but some of them agreed that their friends helped them to use Edmodo in learning process. This phenomenon happened because some of them were busy with their own account because Edmodo was still new for them. Some of them were busy to 67 make their account, change their profile picture and also try some features which were available in Edmodo. However, there were also some students who had willingness to help their friends to use it. Even there were only some students who helped their friends to use Edmodo, it was very assisting for the teacher. The teacher and the students can work together in order to use Edmodo in learning English so that the steps of the use if Edmodo can be followed easily by the students. Item 23. I am interested in using Edmodo in learning English. The result of the statement 23 showed that 10 of the students strongly agreed and 53.3 agreed that they were interested to use Edmodo in learning English. However, there were 30 of the students who disagreed and 6.7 who strongly disagreed with the statement. Based on the data, the total percentage of the agreement level was 63.3 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was 36.7. It meant that 63.3 or 19 students were interested to use Edmodo in learning English. The students were interested to use Edmodo in learning process because they were enjoy to follow the steps of implementing Edmodo and all of the students asked to the teacher actively related to the use of Edmodo. Besides that, they also showed their anxiety by posting some words in the timeline after they successfully made their account. It meant that they were interested to use Edmodo in learning activity. Item 24. I do not agree to use Edmodo in learning English. The result of this statement presented that only 3.3 of the students who strongly agreed and 16.7 agreed with the statement. Meanwhile, there were 50 68 of the students who disagreed and 30 who strongly disagreed. Therefore, the total percentage of the agreement level was only 20 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was 80. Based on the result, it could be seen that most of the students agreed to use Edmodo in learning process. This result had a relation with the previous statement that most of the students agreed to use Edmodo in learning English. In order to crosscheck the answer, the researcher interviewed six students and the result showed that Student 1, 4, and 19 said that Edmodo was good. Edmodo was easy to be understood. Edmodo was simple and also easy to use. Besides that, Student 29 also said that Edmodo was good, especially for learning English because the students could be monitored by the teacher. Based on the result of the interview, 4 students agreed that Edmodo was good for learning English. However, two of them disagreed with those opinions. They said that Edmodo was not really good because not all the students and the teacher were online every time. The result of the questionnaire and interview were true, it was proven by the researcher ’s observation in the timeline that not all the students online all that time. Item 25. I often access Edmodo more than 3 times a week. In the statement 25, the researcher found that the total percentage of the agreement level was only 16.7 and the total percentage of the disagreement level was about 83.3. None of the students strongly agreed and only 16.7 agreed. Most of the students disagreed with the statement, 33.3 of the students disagreed and 50 strongly disagreed. Based on the result, it showed that most of the students did not access Edmodo more than 3 times a week even in the
