Up
The eighth conflict resolution is used by Kimberly when she has to choose whether she keeps struggling for her oral examination or gives up. One of
Kimberly‟s friends traps her during the Physical Science examination. It makes Kimberly‟s teacher thinks that Kimberly is cheating while the examination is
going on. Even though Kimberly has explained that she does not do it, her teacher still does not believe her. Therefore, she has to join an oral examination in order
to prove that she does not cheat. The conflict arises the day before the oral examination. The day before the oral examination, Kimberly has to help her
mother to finish the shipment until past two a.m. Kimberly is very tired but she still has to study for the next day‟s examination. On one side she really wants to
give up and sleep but on another side she does not want to quit. Finally, Kimberly chooses to stay up all night to study for the oral examination.
While Kimberly is studying for the next day‟s oral examination, her mother wakes up. She feels sorry for letting Kimberly help her at the factory. She
thinks that Kimberly should have studied instead of helping her. Her mother also offers her a cup of tea but Kimberly refuses it. She wants nothing but to study.
