Based on the interview result, the writer found out the information that would be used to identify the students’ needs. The writer concluded that the students have
different strengths and interests. The students learn English in different ways. Therefore, the students like to learn English with various activities. The activity has its
own function in developing the student’s intelligences.
2. Stating Goals, Topics, and General Purposes a. Goals
Based on the Curriculum at the School Level, the goals are stated as standard competency. The goals that would be gained by the students are to use their language
skills listening, speaking, reading and writing in a simple and an integrative way. It is also expected that the students are interested in learning English through the
activities provided.
b. Topics
In order to achieve the goals, the writer selected eight topics that would be learnt, the writer gave a list of topics, which was taken from the themes of teaching
and learning activities included in English handbooks for elementary school. The topics are arranged as follows.

c. General Purposes
The writer formulated the general purposes for the topic. The writer did not use general instructional objective as the statement of the general purpose for each topic.
The writer used the Curriculum at the School Level. In the Curriculum at the School Level, basic competence represents the general purpose for every topic. The topics
and the basic competences as the general purpose are presented in Table 5.
