c. Respondents’ Suggestions on the Designed Set of Materials
The respondents also gave some suggestions toward the designed set of materials. The suggestions were very helpful and important, because they helped to
improve and revise the designed materials. The results of the respondents’ suggestions were presented in six items.
a. One respondent suggested rearranging the sequence of units from the simple to the complex one.
b. Two respondents suggested that the title of some topics should be changed in order to make the students interested and curious in learning the topic.
c. One respondent suggested that the use of color should be minimized in order to avoid the students’ distraction.
d. Three respondents said that it would be better if more challenging activities were added.
e. One respondent said that in some parts, the pictures were not consistent with the pictures in the previous page in each unit.
f. One respondent stated that it would be better if the writer introduced the new vocabulary first so that the students are able to follow the game.
C. Discussion on the Designed Materials Evaluation
In this part, the writer discusses the results of the evaluation and the revision of the designed set of materials. Based on the results of descriptive statistics, the
designing of English instructional materials incorporating Multiple Intelligences theory were suitable and acceptable to be applied to the fourth grade students of

elementary school. From the table of descriptive statistics, the mean score was in range from 3.5-4.16. It can be concluded that the designed set of materials were
suitable and acceptable. Revision and improvements were made on the designed materials to make them
better instructional design materials. The writer adopted and used some suggestions that were suitable. The writer did some revision to the designed materials based on
the suggestions given by the respondents. The revisions are clarified as follows. a.
The writer considered the suggestions from the respondents to rearrange the sequence of units 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. It was done to help the students learn the
materials from simple to complex units. Unit 3 : Numbers = Unit 3 : Shape and Color
Unit 4 : Shape and Color = Unit 4 : At School Unit 5 : Days and Months = Unit 5 : At Home
Unit 6 : At School = Unit 6 : Profession Unit 7 : Profession = Unit 7 : Numbers

b. The writer changed the title of unit 1, 2, 4, 5, and 8. It was done to make the
students interested and curious in learning the topic. Unit 1 : It is a Bird
= Unit 1 : My Pets. Unit 2 : I like an Apple
= Unit 2 : Tutti Frutti. Unit 4 : This is My School
= Unit 4 : My Lovely School. Unit 5 : The Sofa is in the Living Room. = Unit 5 : Home Sweet Home.
Unit 8 : What Date is it Today? = Unit 8 : Today is My Birthday.

c. The writer accepted the suggestion from a respondent to minimize the use of
colors. The purpose of revising the layout was to avoid the students’ distraction. Therefore, the students are not confused in comprehending the materials.
d. The writer added some challenging activities in the last section “Let’s Have Fun”
so that these activities help the students to develop their intelligences. e.
The writer also changed some pictures that were not consistent in each topic so the students are not confused in learning each topic.
f. The writer also added more vocabulary that the students did not know before
following the game.
