G. The Criterion of the Action Success

Classroom action research CAR is able to called successful if it can fulfill the criteria which have been determined, and fail if it cannot fulfill the criteria which have been determined. The writer and the teacher discussed to determine the criteria of the action success. This study is regarded successful if 75 numbers of students can pass the KKM in the school is 75 seventy-five. If the study passes the criteria, thus it is called successful and if it not that will need improvement to continue to the next cycle. 45 James Dean Brown, Testing in Language Programs, New York: McGraw-Hill, 2005, p. 66. 41

CHAPTER IV RESEARCH FINDINGS AND INTERPRETATION

A. Pre-implementing the Action

There are three parts related to the fact-finding before implementing the action those are questionnaire, pre observation, and pre-test. Those explanations as following:

1. The Result of Pre-questionnaire

Before implementing the CAR, the writer gave the students questionnaire sheets. The writer ask the students to check list the answer s setuju, ss sangat setuju, ts tidak setuju, or sts sangat tidak setuju that showing expression of student felling in learning reading through group work technique. There are 23 questions with 2 categories, first about teacher professionalism which is consists of 11 questions, and second about students‘ interest which is consists of 12 questions. It was held on Friday, March 18 th 2016 at SMPN 13 Tangerang Selatan. The students are very enthusiasts when doing this activity. They said that this is first time they do it. In addition, the condition is very quiet, and they are look serious. It took 15 minutes to finish this questionnaire. The result of questionnaire is different between one students with others, it is because every students have a different perceptions about what they feel when they are in the classroom or about the teacher.
