They tried to modify the action in order students more comprehend in reading narrative text and in order 75 of students in the class could pass the KKM. Based on the result of the cycle 1, the data showed that the mean score of posttest was 70,75. There were 19 students who passed the Minimum Mastery Criterion – Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal KKM 75 seventy five. Meanwhile the other 21 students did not pass that criterion. In the result of cycle 1 showed only 19 of students who passes the KKM. However, based on the result of the first cycle, the writer and the teacher felt satisfied enough because they were able to improve students‘ reading comprehension of narrative text, although not 75 students passed the KKM. Beside, the students could understand the material easily by using group work. That technique could help them to share the ideas in comprehending of narrative text and to teach each other in determining and analyzing schematic structures of narrative text. In the cycle 1, there was an improvement done by students. However, the improvement had not passed the KKM yet. From the reflecting phase above, the writer must have more efforts to develop students‘ reading comprehension of narrative text by using group work technique. It was needed to improve again in the next cycle.

2. Cycle 2

a. Planning Phase

After finding the result of cycle 1, students‘ reading comprehension did not reach the target in their test‘s score of cycle 1, the writer modified the previous lesson plan based on the result of reflecting phase in the first cycle. The lesson plan which was used still related to learning narrative text by using group work. On the other hand, there were some modifications in the second cycle. The teacher got the students to bring dictionary and gave the meaning of some unfamiliar words based on studen ts‘ request in doing exercise of group work technique. It was caused to ensure their reading comprehension concerning schematic structure of narrative text and to emphasize students‘ work in their own group. Moreover, the writer will give punishment to the student who is not contributing while doing the task. The punishment is the student should make a written story in Narrative text style and heshe have to read the story in front of the class room. The writer also prepared the test for cycle 2 to collect the data.

b. Acting Phase

The action of the cycle two was done on April 13 rd , 15 th, and 20 th 2016. After reviewing the previous lesson, the writer got students to read the text and gave them some minutes to identify and to look up the unfamiliar words of the text by using their dictionary. Then, the students determined the schematic structures of the text by themselves. Afterwards, the teacher asked students some questions related to the text. Then, the students were divided into eight groups and asked to arrange jumble paragraph of narrative text into a good passage. Then, students are asked to find unfamiliar words in their dictionary, if they did not find it in the dictionary, the teacher gave them chance to ask the teacher about it, and she wrote the meaning of some unfamiliar words on the white board. Next, the teacher walked around the class to check their answer and to make them felt responsible in finishing their task on time. After that, the teacher led all groups to discuss and to match their answer whether there were different answers or not. Next, the teacher gave the correct answer of the questions based on the material discussion on the white board. To make clear what happens in every meeting, here are the explanation:

1. First Meeting

DayDate : Wednesday, April 13 rd 2016 Topic : Narrative Text a. Opening the Class The teacher greeted them as usual and explained the purpose of today‘s learning. Also, she checked the students‘ absence. b. Main Activities The teacher started the lesson by giving ice breaking to warming up the students to make them focus and relax when learning. After that, the teacher tell the students that they still learn about reading comprehension with narrative text but with different text, because they still have not get the best result previous meeting. Then, The teacher asked the students to sit with their group which is divided in previous meeting. After that, the teacher gave them a text each group with different story about narrative text, then the teacher explain the students about the task. After that, the teacher ask them to read and write down the difficult vocabulary in the text, and then every group should write in the white boar and discuss together with other students and with the teacher. c. Closure The teacher opened questions and answer session for students who have not been understood related to the material, and gave some advice and information about what will be learn for the next meeting.

2. Second Meeting

DayDate : Friday, April 15 th 2016 Topic : Narrative Text a. Opening the Class In the beginning, the teacher greeted and asked about the absence in the class. Also delivered the learning objectives and brief explanation about the material. b. Main Activity The teacher looks around about situation in the class, after she thought the class was quite silent, she will begin start the lesson.
