Pandanus faviger Backer TAXONOMIC TREATMENT Pandanaceae R. Br.

HABITAT ECOLOGY: Pandanus faviger is specifically found in the East part of Java island, in Lamongan and Pasuruan. The species particularly grow in lower montane area from 1000 to 1400 m above sea level, flowering and fruiting in February to June. VERNACULAR Name: Pandan rangkang. NOTES: Pandanus faviger appears close to .P. polycephalus. Morphologically these species are similar to each other by sharing syncarp not solitary, drupe small 15 mm long. DISTRIBUTION: West Java to East Java. HABITAT ECOLOGY: Pandanus kurzii occupies very wide habitat ranges from 20 to 1100 m above sea level. This species grows from the lowland to lower montane forest, but mostly found growing on hill forest, and only two collection have been recorded from lower montane forest, flowering or fruiting in January to December. VERNACULAR NAME:. Pandan sarengseng, pandan tawi. NOTES: Pandanus kurzii appears close to P. amaryllifolius. Morphologically these species are similar to each other by sharing shrub, leaves chartaceous, apical ventral pleat smooth and tertiary cross vein form oblong meshes. Pandanus amaryllifolius differs from P. kurzii by three character states, blade ensiform, scented leaves and leaf apex abruptly terminating at once in a point.
