Data Analysis and Interpretation

42 of the interviews and observation in narratives. The researcher interprets the text to find the meaning. Before that, the researcher selects the themes that have pedagogical values to interpret. The last step is to draw conclusions, make some suggestions and closing remark.

C. Data Analysis and Interpretation

In this research the researcher will describe the participants‘ lived experience in the form of narratives. Van Manen 1990 states that description of world contains interpretation. Therefore, by interpreting the interview into texts, the researcher hopes to be able to find the essential meaning of the lived experiences and able to provide a description of learners from low financial capacity, in the way they undergo the process of English language learning process based on the lived experiences for the readers of this research. The process of interpreting the data involves the data coding. Huberman 1994 describes coding as tags or labels for assigning units of meaning to descriptive information compiled during the study. In other words, codes are tags or labels that are attached to the ‗raw‘ data. The codes can take the form of names, initials, or numbers systematically to relate any substances of the data to the specific setting and an idea relating to the analysis. The codes in this research are written in abbreviation based on the components and indicators of the constructs. The following table 3.1 will show the coding. No Component Indicators Coding 1. Low economic factors a. School infrastructure b. School equipments c. Student facilities d. Family support e. Learning outside a. LEF-SI b. LEF-SE c. LEF-SF d. LEF-FS e. LEF-LO 43 school-time f. Other problems f. LEF-OP 2. Language learning factors a. Language learning process b. Consciousness c. Motivation d. Awareness e. Learning interaction f. Low financial capacity g. English acquisition a. LLF-LLP b. LLF-C c. LLF-M d. LLF-A e. LLF-LI f. LLF-LFC g. LLF-EA Table 3.1. Table of Coding of the Research The findings of the study were gathered from the data and then analyzed to find the conclusion of the study. The researcher‘s main task is to give interpretation based on the analysis of the collected data. The discussion of data analysis will further be presented in Chapter IV.
