2. Selecting the Problems
Based on the observation, interviews and pre-test that were conducted by the researcher, it could be said that the English teaching and learning process of
writing skill did not run in a good way. So there were some problems which needed to be overcome. After identifying the problems found in the field, the
researcher needed to select the problems that were the most urgent and most feasible to be solved. Considering the feasibility, time and priority of the
problems, the researcher, the collaborator and the English teacher chose the
problems to be solved in this research that focused on raising the idea to write a text as well as improving the writing aspects such as vocabulary, grammar,
mechanics, and organization. And also, they decided to try to improve students’ motivation in learning English, especially in writing skill. The selected
problems are elaborated in the following table.

3. Determining the Actions
After identifying the problems found in the teaching and learning process and selecting the most feasible and urgent problems to be solved, the researcher
and the collaborator planned some actions to overcome the problems. The planned actions are listed in the table below.
