Technique of Data Collecting

APPENDIX 1 interest to join LBPP LIA Surakarta. The data took from three kinds of sources, those was: 1. The events. It was the process of students’ registrar of LBPP LIA, the services of the receptionist, and the marketing’ activities. 2. Documents. Document is a paper that given information, proof, or support of some thing. Thus documentation is technique in collecting the data by using the document the written things from which the researcher gets the data. Based on Suharsimi 1998: 236. Documents are about the written information based on the study of marketing management in relation to the students; interest to join LBPP LIA Surakarta. The documents used as the sources in this research were brochure of LBPP LIA, brochure of STBA LIA, pamphlet of research colloquium LIA, pamphlet walk the talk trans7, pamphlet STBA LIA, time table of trainers, students’ progress report, time table of the course, staffs’ data, the total students’ number, scholarships’ data, internet data, and banner. 3. Informants. The research took the secretary, academic operational officer, students of LBPP LIA as the key informants to be interviewed.

D. Technique of Data Collecting

Based on the sources of the data, the instruments of data collection were in the form of: 1. Observation Observation is the activities or processes to observe something accurately in order to get the understanding of the objects which is observed Nurkamto, APPENDIX 1 2004 : 4. In this research, the writer fond the data by observing LBPP LIA in the process of registration and services in front office, the facilities of teaching learning process, the condition and situation of LBPP LIA Surakarta, and the teaching learning process. The writer didn’t participate in the class. The writer just observes those phenomena without any involved. The observation method involved the researcher in watching, recording and analyzing events of interest. The participation observation involved the researcher in the research of a kind of phenomena. The participation observation is divided into three types. These are passively participation observation, moderately participation observation, and full participation observation. The writer used passively participation in this research. In here, the writer observed the data in the setting, but she didn’t involve with people inside the setting of observation. In this study, the writer used naturalistic observation. The observation was conducted from February to May 2009. Naturalistic observation is the observation carried out in the real world. 2. Interview Interview is a form of communication between two people which is involved somebody who wants to gain the information and the other person asks questions Mulyana: 2004. The interview method involves questioningdiscussing issues with people. The unstructured interview has been variously described as naturalistic, autobiographical, in-depth, narrative or non directive. The interviews were APPENDIX 1 focused on interviewing the secretary, academic operational officer and students of LBPP LIA Surakarta. 3. Document analysis The documents analysis did to select the documents related to the marketing management in relation to the students’ interest to join LBPP LIA Surakarta. Based on Suharsimi 1998: 236, documentation is a method of collecting the data by taking the data from the existing data as document such as notes, book, newspaper, agenda and scan. In this study, the documents are taken base on the brochure of LBPP LIA, brochure of STBA LIA, pamphlet of research colloquium LIA, pamphlet walk the talk trans7, pamphlet STBA LIA, time table of trainers, students’ progress report, time table of the course, staffs’ data, the total students’ number, scholarships’ data, internet data, and banner.
