Human Rights in the relationship with external parties
The relationship with external parties, outside business partners, is based on efforts to build positive company image and no violations to human rights. Based on this foundations, the relationship must be in line wih principles of transparency, accountability, responsibility, independency, and fairness.
To ensure there will be no human rights violation and Good Corporate Governance (GCG) is implemented properly, Antam has GCG Committee. This committee has direct access to the Board of Commissioners. With this efforts, there have never been any human rights violations both internal and external environment.

Kegiatan tanggung jawab sosial di Antam dapat dinyatakan sebagai salah satu prioritas tertinggi di mata perusahaan. Pembentukan Direktorat Umum dan CSR di tahun 2008 menunjukkan bahwa komitmen organisasional Antam terkait dengan CSR memang baik. Direktorat tersebut juga menunjukkan keseriusannya dengan segera membuat rencana induk (master plan) untuk kegiatan kerja selama lima tahun ke depan. Di dalam rencana induk tersebut, pengembangan sumber daya manusia serta program yang diprioritaskan menjadi bagian yang penting. Sementara itu, Direktorat Operasi, di mana pengelolaan lingkungan menjadi bagian kerjanya, telah menunjukkan prestasi yang baik dengan meraih PROPER peringkat Hijau untuk UBP Emas Pongkor dan Biru untuk UBP Nikel Pomalaa, selain berbagai penghargaan aspek lingkungan yang lain.
Terkait dengan fungsi pengawasan, Antam mempelopori pembentukan Komite CSR-LPT (Corporate Social Responsibility, Lingkungan dan Pasca Tambang) yang berfungsi mendukung tugas-tugas Dewan Komisaris yang terkait dengan kinerja aspek sosial dan lingkungan. Ini menunjukkan bahwa CSR bukan saja menjadi perhatian eksekutif perusahaan, melainkan juga di tingkat Dewan Komisaris. Dalam soal transparansi dan akuntabilitas, Antam juga menunjukkan komitmen tertingginya. Sudah beberapa tahun belakangan, Antam mengadopsi pelaporan keberlanjutan yang mengacu kepada Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). Laporan keberlanjutan ini telah mendapat penghargaan sebagai salah satu laporan keberlanjutan terbaik dalam Indonesian Sustainability Reporting Awards (ISRA) tahun 2008.
Tentu saja, berbagai pencapaian di atas tidak membuat Antam berpuas diri. Sebagaimana yang dinyatakan dalam rencana induk, Antam berkomitmen untuk menjadikan CSR-nya mengacu pada standar-standar internasional
Antam’s social responsibility activities can be regarded as one of the company’s highest priorities. The establishment of General Affairs and CSR Directorate in 2008 demonstrates Antam’s good organizational commitment concerning CSR. This directorate also shows its seriousness by formulating a master plan of the program’s activities for the next five years. In the master plan, human resources
development and priority program is of the significant importance. Meanwhile, Directorate of Operations, with environmental management as part of its line of work, has shown its accomplishment by achieving PROPER Green rating for Pongkor Gold Mining Business Unit and Blue for Pomalaa Nickel Business Unit, as well as various awards and recognition in other environmental aspect.
Regarding controlling function, Antam pioneers the forming of CSR-LPT Committee (Corporate Social Responsibility, Environment and Closure Mining Committee) with a function to support Board of Commissioners’ duties in social and environmental aspects. This suggests that CSR is not only the interest of the company’s executives, but also of the Board of Commissioners. In regard with transparency and accountability, Antam also shows its highest commitment. In the past several years, Antam adopts the sustainability reporting that refers to Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). This sustainability report has received an award as one of the best sustainability reports at the Indonesian Sustainability Reporting Awards (ISRA) in 2008.
These achievements surely will not stop Antam and become complacent. As stated in the master plan, Antam is committed to bring about its CSR with international

All information revealed in this report has been evaluated with the International standard reference: the Sustainability Reporting Guidelines version 3 (GRI-G3). Most parts of the information has been reported in accordance with this reference, suggesting that Antam’s social responsibility program and reporting system has been on the right track. Some information has not been reported due to the disagreement between information reference in GRI-G3 and the company’s condition. Several information which is also reported is not obsolutely relevant with GRI-G3 reference because Antam has a special company characteristic that can not be put aside. This reference provides guidelines for us, however it does not necessarily mean we limit ourselves to it, as we provide information that goes beyond the standard of reference. This is us, with all social responsibility program that we have implemented.
