3. Verb Blends
The third position fit into verb blends. Verb blends can be formed from two verbs V + V, a noun with a verb N + V, and a verb with a noun V + N. As
shown in Figure 4.8, the combination of two verbs is the most frequent. It includes 29 blends. Next, the combination of a noun and a verb follows with 13
blends. Meanwhile, there are only 3 blends which combine a verb and a noun.
Figure 4.8 Word Category of Verb Blends
As can be seen in Table 4.7, verb blends are only classified into three subclasses. The first subclass is the combination of a noun and a verb N + V.
The examples are blamestorm blame x brainstorm, drunksit drunk x babysit, electrocute electro x execute, screencap screen x capture,
skyjack sky x hijack, webvertise web x advertise, mupload mobile x upload, and wordnap word x kidnap. The second subclass is the

intertwingle intertwine x intermingle, pronunciate pronounce x enunciate, refudiate refute x repudiate, twiddle twist x fiddle, thrillax

4. Adverb Blends
The last position belongs to adverb blends. Adverb blends do not have a range of variations. The result shows that there is only one possibility of adverb
blends in its formation, namely the combination of two adverbs Adv + Adv. As
shown in Table 4.8, adverb blends are only feasible when they are formed of two adverbs. For example, the blend absotively is the combination of adverb
absolutely and positively. The other examples are smore some x more, mayhaps maybe x perhaps, positutely positively x absolutely, mosdef
most x definitely, bactually but x actually, and irregardless
irrespective x regardless.
