2. The purpose was to collect feedback on the proposed teaching strategies in the form of opinions and suggestions. Based on the evaluation, I made the revision of the product. Finally, I revised the product based on the results of questionnaire.

D. Research Instruments

I used some instruments in obtaining the data and those were:

1. Instrument for Research and Information Gathering

The instrument for Research and Information Gathering was interview. In this step, I would conduct an interview with the English teacher about the teaching learning strategies that were used by the teacher, the learner’s lack and the teacher and learners’ need.

2. Instrument for Preliminary Field Testing

The instrument for Preliminary Field Testing was questionnaire. I as the researcher in this study would distribute a set of questionnaire to obtain the data about the suggested teaching strategies based on Reflective Pedagogy for integrated reading and writing. The reason for choosing this tool of gathering data was because I wanted to find out the perception and attitudes about their feedback of the material suggested. Therefore, this tool would be feasible and convenient. Specifically, I used the combination of closed questions and open questions. On the one hand, in closed questions, the respondents would be asked for their opinions about the teaching strategies design. On the other hand, the open questions were designed for the purpose of finding the detail and more complete answer about the participants’ comments, opinions, suggestions and criticism toward the designed teaching strategies. By combining those two types of questions, I believe would find the data about the participants’ feedback of the design teaching strategies based on Reflective Pedagogy. By using questionnaire, it also would save time. The greater the number of informants, the more economical of time it was to use a questionnaire. In addition, this method was the only feasible choice.

E. Data Analysis Technique

In this study, the data were obtained from the interwiews and qusetionnaire. It would be presented in the forms of narrative description and numerical data. In the Resarch and Information Collecting, the interviews were conducted in the form of open-ended questions to the English teacher of grade X students of SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta. From Research and Information Collecting, the data gathered from the English teacher of SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta would be analyzed in the form of narrative description. In the Preliminary Field Testing, the questionnairre was distributed in the form of close-ended and open-ended questions to the English teacher of SMA Negeri 11 Yogyakarta and the English lecturer of Sanata Dharma University. According to Ary, Jacobs, and Razavieh 1990: 235, in close-ended questions, the judgement of the participants’ statements on the questionnaire uses five degree of agreement. They are: Table 3.2: Degree of Agreement Degree of Agreement Meaning 1 Strongly Disagree 2 Disagree 3 Doubt 4 Agree 5 Strongly Agree From Preliminary Field Testing, the data gained from reasearch participants would be analyzed to find out the mean. The mean is an average of all the scores in a distribution. The average points were found by adding all the
