The total items of vocabulary exercise were 10. The second indicator took descriptive text of photography within vocabulary in the previous exercise. In addition, the 5 items of multiple choice tasks provided to respond the given reading text. The third indicator provided within 10 picture-cued items in the form of multiple choice tasks. Regarding the fourth indicator, there was a news report text as reading text and student‟s opinions towards the given reading text. The total questio ns for student‟s opinions were 2. Finally, the last indicator designed with s tudent‟s reflection to know students‟ reading comprehension skill in unit 4. CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter presents the conclusions in this research. Besides that, it also gives recommendation for the next researchers dealing with thesis design using online learning media, for teachers who handle the seventh grade students using Curriculum 2013 of SMP Pangudi Luhur 1 Yogyakarta, and for lecturers of Sanata Dharma University especially who teach Computer Assisted Language Learning CALL class as an elective subject.

A. Conclusions

Teacher could integrate Microsoft Offices, Point, Prezi, and Quizstar. Those tools can be uploaded in weblogs. Teacher should learn how to use an interactive tool multimedia as in this research. The Hot-Potatoes program as one example of interactive tools multimedia. There were six programs in Hot- Potatoes, such as JMatch, JCross, JQuiz, JCloze, JMix, and the Masher. However, the researcher only adapted three out of those six programs in designing the reading exercises, such as JMatch, JCross, and JQuiz. This research found two research problems to solve, they are 1 How are the Web-based reading exercises using Hot-Potatoes for the seventh grade students of SMP Pangudi Luhur 1 Yogyakarta designed? and 2 What does the design Web-based reading exercises look like? In order to answer those two research problems, the researcher applied four components from two combination components of instructional-designs by Kemp 1989 and Morrison et.al. 2011 included analysing, designing the 60 instruction, developing the instruction, and evaluating the instruction. Additionally, the compilation of teacher‟s guideline and the English reading exercises design are attach ed in this research‟s appendices. The guideline purposed to answer the first question of research problems and to help teachers of SMP Pangudi Luhur 1 Yogyakarta in designing the exercises or items by using Hot-Potatoes version 6 program. Again, the design purposed to answer the second question of research problems in this research. Therefore, the final product revision is attached in appendix G.

B. Recommendation

Through this research, either teacher or students got some advantages in teaching and learning process. Teacher learned how to design interesting English exercises through the use of interactive tools media. In addition, teacher also exploited the use of technology as online learning media. Then, students also learned English through the given texts and exercises in accordance with the implementation of curriculum 2013. There were three recommendations for three groups of people in designing better English reading exercises through the use of online learning media as in follow.

The researcher applied Hot-Potatoes basic program in creating the design. This research has not been completed yet because it is definite that technology is always changing. It is very necessary to develop and upgrade with another new programs. Hopefully, the future researcher can create a better design using a
