CHAPTER IV CONCLUSSIONS AND SUGGESTIONS
A. Conclusions
Translation always departs from understanding of the meaning of the words, later continued by accommodating to the context. Usually, the translator does
some modification to get an accurate meaning and similar expression in the target language. The translator tries to finds the close equivalent of understanding
information between the source language and target language. After having an analysis the translation on Romeo and Juliet film s subtitle on
the previous chapters, the writer concludes some points, such as follows: 1.
The translator is still influenced by the original work so that the translation is quite unnatural.
2. The translator makes over improvisation or modification in translating
the texts, so that the subtitle is awkward. 3.
The translator uses the method of translation that is not quite compatible. Furthermore, the writer wants to draw a conclusion that the errors made by
the translator in Indonesia subtitle is caused by three classifications of cause these are developmental error, communication-based error, and overgeneralization.
Developmental error is divided into four types of errors that are Singular and Plural 1 sentence in this case, Tense 2 sentences in this case and Kinds of
Sentence 2 sentences in this case. There is a case in communication-based error 10 sentences in this case. In
last case in Overgeneralization that is Word Order 1 sentence in this case. The errors of translation are caused by the method of translation in use. It means the
translator uses the method of translation that is not quite compatible the text. So, the translation is out of the context. Besides that, the message and information
from the source language cannot reach in target language. That is why, it is important to choose the compatible method of translation to translate the text.
B. Suggestions
As the human being, nobody is perfect in this world. Everyone has made errors or mistakes in their lives, especially in translating the language. In fact, it is
very normal and unavoidable. After finishing this paper, the writer would like to suggest some important points for the translator;
1. The translator is better to translate the source language into the target
language as long as it has close equivalent in the target language. 2.
To avoid making error or absurd sentences, a translator should be careful in translating a text and choose the best method of translation.
For the student of English Letter Department, Adab and Humanities Faculties, to analyze the error translation, because of there are many translation
produces that have less of equivalent, particularly the translation of the film. Besides that, the problem of this paper can makes variation of the thesis in this
faculty.
