1. Mohammad Tsani Annafari (Alumni S3 dari Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg)
Berdasarkan pengalaman saya studi di tiga negara, saya meyakini ada kota terbaik untuk belajar bagi setiap orang. Dan hanya yang bersangkutan yang tahu kota apa itu. Bagi saya, bagaimanapun caranya, Gothenburg telah mentransformasi diri saya menjadi pribadi yang lebih produktif dan lebih baik. Lokasinya yang lebih dari 10.000 kilometer dari Jakarta, membuat saya tidak banyak berpikir untuk pulang kampung. Sehingga konsentrai lebih kepada bagaimana menyelesaikan studi se- segera mungkin.
Gothenburg juga memberi kesempatan kepada saya untuk menyaksikan indahnya keragaman hidup berdampingan. Di sini wanita berbusana tertutup bahkan menggunakan penutup wajah (burka) hidup berdampingan dengan wanita berbusana mini bahkan berbikini di taman- taman kota. Diskriminasi dengan alasan apapun sangat sulit dijumpai dan diancam dengan sanksi yang keras. Sangat mengagumkan melihat anak-anak kecil dari beragam etnis belajar di tempat dan fasilitas yang sama dengan guru yang sama. Mereka bermain dan bercanda tanpa terlihat canggung dengan rekan sebaya yang berbeda warna kulit. Kebebasan beragama juga sangat dihormati. Saya bahkan takjub melihat mushola dan bahkan unit kerohanian Islam berdiri di Chalmers dan menjadi bagian yang setara dengan unit kegiatan lain dalam student union. Sesuatu yang tidak pernah saya duga sebelumnya akan terjadi di negeri yang berbendera salib.
Satu hal lagi, dan ini menurut saya cukup penting, adalah tersedianya kesempatan untuk merasakan harmoni kehidupan dengan alam di Gothenburg. Saya akan selalu merindukan saat-saat berjalan kaki ke kampus yang selalu diiringi kicauan aneka burung di taman-taman sekitar kampus dan asrama yang menyambut siulan saya. Segarnya udara yang dihembuskan pohon-pohon di sepanjang jalan dan daun- daun yang berserakan sepanjang jalan menjadi ramuan tersendiri yang seringkali menyihir saya untuk berpikir dan apa adanya. Bebas dari rasa khawatir dan meresapi kedamaian meskipun target dan beban pekerjaan bertumpuk. Itulah kesan saya tentang Gothenburg, kota kenangan yang selalu saya rindukan hembusan udara segarnya.

2. Erwin Adi Hartono (Mahasiswa S3 Chalmers University of Tech- nology, Gothenburg)
My testimony below is very subjective and based on what I have experienced and still experiencing today. Reader would have different or perhaps same experience as me. For me, studying in Sweden is like a group study. The atmosphere inside the campus is informal. The lecturers are kind and supportive. They always have time for questions, although obviously they do not have answer to all the questions, but they will try their best to guide their students.
I feel lucky to be able to study in Sweden, due to the fact that I am not
a bright student. I feel that that the education system in Sweden treats students as “nobody is perfect”. The system allows students to be able to grow as their like. We are free to choose what we want to study,
even though our choice may be outside of our study field. We also have possibilities to do reexam, again and again until we feel satisfied. The grading is fair and we can estimate our grade directly after the exam.
Of course self motivation is very important for studying. I think not just in Sweden, but all over the world, yet here in Sweden that is what they do. They encourage and train their students to have self motivation so that after finishing studying in Sweden, their student are confident of what they have studied.
3. Laili Aidi (Mahasiswi S2, Master in Communication System, Royal Institute of Technology -KTH, Stockholm).
I study Communication Systems because this program allows me to explore a couple of things not just in my background. I can learn about telecommunications, economic, and entrepreneurship. Right now I am doing my research at Ericsson and at KTH labs, so it is a joint research between university and company. Communication with Swedish people is very easy. If you can speak English then you can speak with everybody in Sweden. The interaction with professors is also very nice for you can call them by their first name.

We have a good library and access to almost all the famous journals. We trust our KTH account and we have a computer room, we can choose whatever we want. So, if you do not have a computer you can still work for your studies. There are also very good cafes around campus and it is quite cheap for students. I think the support for students, especially for international students is very good at KTH. My coordinator is very supportive and she will help us even when we have a problem with metro card.
Stockholm is absolutely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is surrounded by gardens and water and the air is so clean and it changes throughout the year. If you come during the summer, it is not the same as in the autumn. It is hard to get bored if you live in Stockholm. Just being in the city is very nice.
I have gotten several future plans after I finish studying at KTH. One plan is continuing to a PhD program, probably in Sweden as well. Because I know that they have very good research institutions. I would absolutely always encourage my colleages in Indonesia to come to Sweden especially to apply for KTH because this is one of the best universities in Sweden. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities, so why not try?
