A. Let’s Get Ready
Look at the pictures, listen to your teacher and repeat after your teacher
Ask the students to pay attention to the pictures. Read aloud Deni’s family tree slowly.
Ask the students to be Deni and tell who are in the picture: 1.
Who are Mr. and Mrs. Sastro? S: Mr. and Mrs. Sastro are my grandparents
2. Who is Mr.Sasongko? S: Mr.Sasongko is my father
3. Who is Mrs.Sasongko? S: Mrs.Sasongko is my mother
4. Who is Rina? S: Rina is my sister
5. Who is Rino? S: Rino is my brother
Tell the students “today we will study about family” Read the reading passage aloud and slowly.
Ask the students to repeat after you read one sentence. Give the examples to the students how to practice the dialogs.
Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to read the dialogs carefully.
B. Let’s Do It Source: CD “I Love My Family”
Look at the video and listen to the teacher’s explanations
Ask the students to pay attention to the video. Play the video once.
Play the video twice and ask the students to guess the words aloud when some flash cards showed in the video.

Check the students’ answers and pause the video.
Find the words related to family by circling them
Ask the students to circle the 5 words related to family. The words are in horizontal and vertical position.
Check the answers by asking 5 students to tell the class their answers.
C. Let’s Practice
Play “Dancing and Saying” Make a circle and listen to your teacher’s explanation
Ask the students to make a big circle. Tell them the rules of the game:
1. You will play a song in a tape recorder.
2. The students should dance and move in the same direction with the watch

3. Anytime you stop the song. The students should freeze and you will point
one student to answer your question.

5. The questions are:
How old are you? What is your father’s name?
What is your sister’s name? How many brothers do you have?
How many sisters do you have?
Tell the students “Let’s play Dancing and Saying game” Continue the game up to 15 minutes, until most of the students have got the
turn.
Glue your own family picture to this space
Ask the students to prepare their family photos, scissors and glue. Ask the students to cut the pictures and glue the pictures in the right space
provided.
Review: Short but Smart Listen and answer your teacher’s questions. The fastest student who
raises hisher hand will have the first chance to answer Review all of the greeting and introduction expressions by asking some
questions or saying some expressions below: 1.
Who is she? 2.
What is your father’s name? 3.
What is your sister’s name? 4.
How many brothers do you have? 5.
How many sisters do you have? Notes:
You may add some additional questions related to their feelings, for example: “Are you happy today?”, “How do you feel?” Those additional
questions can be used as their reflection of today’s lesson.
