2 The Respondents Comments and Suggestions on the Designed Materials This part elaborated the second section of the questionnaire in the form of open response items. The respondents were asked to write their suggestions and opinions on the designed materials. The respondents’ suggestions and feedback were as follows:

a. The Respondents’ opinion on the strength of designed materials.

The respondents’ opinions on the strengths of the designed materials are summarized as follows: Based on the materials and activities of the designed materials, one of the respondents stated that the designed set of materials was in accordance with the syllabus. The exercises were interesting, varied, and communicative, students would find it challenging. Another respondent stated that most activities required students to perform the competence as in the indicator. One of the respondents also stated that the designed materials were closely related to hotel accommodation and met the students’ need. The respondents also stated one of the strengths of the designed materials was the activities that were proportional for the allocated time. Besides, the designed set of materials provided greater space or chance for the students to practice and improve their English. In general, the respondents stated that the materials were well developed and nicely edited also each unit consists of four skills as one of the strengths of the designed materials. The relevance of the materials was very good so the students would learn what was necessary to learn related to their specialty. Another respondent stated that the pictures related to the context as the strength of the designed materials. Most of the respondents stated that the language instruction was simple and easily understood.

b. The weaknesses of the designed materials

The respondents’ opinions on the weaknesses of the designed materials are summarized as follows: 1 There were some grammatical mistakes. 2 Some parts were not clear layout because of the color chosen. 3 The lesson plan did not contain detailed indicators.

c. Respondents’ suggestion to improve the designed materials
