the students to use the expression to talk about daily activities properly and be familiar with the hotel staffs’ activities. Unit 2, the topic is handling the guest
which title is The phone is ringing. This unit provides activities and exercises on taking a telephone message correctly and expressions used in handling hotel
reservation. Unit 3, the topic is telling one’s experience which title is I stayed in Bali. In this unit the students are provided with activities and exercises which help
them to learn how to tell their past experience. Unit 4, the topic is telling one’s future plans which title is Bernice is going to be a hotel receptionist. This unit
aimed to provide activities and exercises which help the students to tell their working plans in the future. Unit 5, the topic is giving opinion which title is I
think it is more exciting. The activities and exercises in this unit are to make the students able to state their opinion correctly. Unit 6, the topic is giving instruction
which title is I can use a vacuum cleaner. This unit aimed to make the students be able to understand simple instruction such as giving and asking for an instruction.
Unit 7, the topic is giving invitation which title is Enjoy your stay with us. The aim of this unit is to help the students to be able to give invitation properly.
Every unit consists of three sections, namely Let’s Start, Let’s Focus, and Let’s Practice. The explanation for each section is as follow:
1. Let’s Start
Let’s Start is the first section which deals with the preparation before
entering the main materials. This part consists of some activities to aim to stimulate the students to use their background knowledge to prepare them before
discussing the new topic. The activities are such as matching the pictures with the

correct expression, listening to a short story and then answer the question, answering the questions, arranging the correct expression, completing the missing
information or words, finding the verbs in the story, continuing the story based on their opinion, group discussion, listening to the song or conversation, performing
conversation, and pair work. In Let’s Start section, there can be found listening
exercises in each unit. Some of the listening exercises needed internet access such as in Unit 1, Unit 2, and Unit 5. The examples of activities which can be found in
Let’s Start section are:
• Listen to the conversation and find the missing words. • Act the conversation above in front of the class.
• Match the images with one of the expressions below.
2. Let’s Focus
Let’s Focus section deals with the main activities in the designed
materials. It contains two skills, they are writing and speaking. This section provides the students with grammar and simple expressions which is suitable for
Hotel Accommodation Department. The activities which can be found in this section are individual activity as in understanding the grammar, building
sentences, completing conversation with the appropriate verb, perform a conversation using the proper expression, giving opinion, and group discussion.
This section aimed to provide the students with grammar and simple expression they need as a hotel staff candidate so that they are familiar with the expressions
and able to use it properly. The examples of activity in Let’s Focus are:
