1. Observation Checklist
It was applied during school observation to survey the support services in the school.  The  checklist  contained  several  things  to  be  observed.  From  the
observation  checklist,  the  information  about  school’s  facilities  and  equipments will be gained. The checklist could be seen in Appendix B.
2. A List of Interview Questions
According  to  Ary et  al. 2002,  interviews  are  used  to  gather  data  on subjects’ opinions, beliefs, and feelings about the situation in their own words p.
434.  The  data  gathered through  the  answers  from  the  questions that are given during  the  interview. They are two  types  of  interviews,  structured  and
unstructured  Ary et  al., 2002,  p. 434.  The  differences are on  the  type of questions, such as open-questions or closed-questions, and also the setting of the
interview,  planned  or  unplanned.  In  this research,  the researcher applied the unstructured interview for research and information collecting step.
The researcher interviewed  two  English  teachers of SMA  Pangudi  Luhur Yogyakarta  with  open  questions type.  The  questions appeared during  the
interview based  on  the  interview  guideline. In  other  words,  the  interview  was unplanned  and  the  questions  arose  based  on  the  teachers’  responses.  In  this
unstructured  interview,  the researcher gathered  data from  the  teachers  as  the participants about their  opinions  and  views  related  to students’  characteristics,
students’ problem in English learning, English materials used in school, and their needs  related  to  English  learning  materials. In  the  preliminary  field  testing,  the

researcher also did the unstructured interview to some experts. This interview was used to gather the clear evaluation or feedback from the teachers and lecturers.
3. Questionnaires
In this research,  the researcher used two  questionnaires. First,  the questionnaire was  distributed to  science students  in  the  eleventh  grade  of SMA
Pangudi Luhur Yogyakarta in  the  academic  year  of  20112012.  The  questions were closed-form and open-form. The closed-form questions were used to gather
the data about students’ difficulties,students’ opinion about reading class activity, and students’  opinion about  reading  material  given  in  school.  The  open-form
questions  were  used  to  know  students’  interest  toward  certain  topics  to  be included  in  reading  material  and  students’  opinion  about  material and  reading
class improvement. Absolutely, the questionnaire above was used in the research and information collecting step.
The  second  questionnaire  was  distributed  to  the  respondents  in  field- testing step. The questionnaire was used to gain the feedbak from the respondents.
The  respondents  were  two  lecturers of English  Language  Education  Study Program of Sanata Dharma University  and one English teacher of SMA Pangudi
Luhur Yogyakarta. The researcher asked  two  lecturers  in  order  to get more
opinion related to the product, meanwhile the researcher asked the teacher in order to gather the evaluation whether the product has fullfiled their needs or not. The
questions in the questionnaire were open form in order to gain the complete and clear  evalution  or  feedback and  comments  or suggestions  from  the  respondents
related to the product. The questionnaire could be seen in Appendix C.
