B. MAIN ACTIVITY
This phase consists of several parts. The main purpose of this section is to help the students to understand the materials through various reading activities.
Then, each part in this phase has the different aims as the implementation of CTL approach.
Let’s Read 1
This section can be called as ‘Comprehension Section ‘. The purpose of this section is to improve students’ ability in understanding a text. There are several
activities related to comprehensive activity such as answering the questions, true or false task, and filling the blanks. The activities aim to improve students’
reading skills and students’ vocabulary. In addition, in this section students can be assigned to do the task individually, in pairs, or in a group.
Let’s Read 2
The purpose of this section is to develop students’ understanding toward text organization and text features. There are some attractive activities in this section
such as running-reading, wall-reading, jumbled-paragraph, etc. The attractive activities are designed to attract students’ attention to learn text organization.
All activities in this section are group activities so that the students will analyze the text, answer the questions, and discuss the analysis in group.
Let’s Read 3
This section is called as ‘Creative Reading’. The aim of this section is to build the learning community and measure students’ creative understanding toward the
text. All activities in this section are done in group and outside the class. Students seem to have a kind of reading activities and some projects to do. Here,
students will apply their ability in reading text in the real context. Students will receive several projects to do. These activities also need students’ cooperation

and students’ creativity. In the end of this section students should deliver the result of their creative reading through a presentation followed by questions and
answer section.
C. POST-ACTIVITY Review and Reflection
The purpose of this phase is to review the learning material that students have achieved and to reflect to the learning material and process that students have
experienced. Through this section, the teacher can gather the feedback from the students related to the learning process and learning material. Besides teacher
could ask other questions to measure the students’ understanding toward the materials.
