1. The Layout of the Over-Sized Snake-Ladder Game

The researcher adapted the layout of the commercial Snake-Ladder game. The researcher only modified the size and the number of paths in the game based on several suggestions from the experts. Because the over-sized Snake-Ladder game also designed to employ the motorist skills of the students, the researcher designed a huge board. The researcher made 3 x 4 meters for the board of the over-sized Snake-Ladder game. Therefore, the students should use their motor skills to jump from one path to the other paths. The following picture was the layout of the over-sized Snake- Ladder game. They were the dice and the fruits flashcard. The following pictures were the supporting tools of the designed game. Figure 4.4 The Pictures of Supporting Tools Moreover, the researcher put the pictures of the snakes and the ladders as the commercial game had. Those snakes and the ladders could be used to express the students’ emotion such as sadness and happiness. The additional sign systems were derived from the suggestions of English teacher of TK Kanisius Kotabaru,Yogyakarta. The following picture was several sign systems inside of the game. It could raise the kindergarten students’ enthusiasm in learning and challenge their foresight and their imagination Campbell et al, 1996.

2. The Content of the Over-Sized Snake-Ladder Game

According to Lee 1986, a Snake-Ladder game should provide a picture of the snakes and the ladders. The snake is to go down, while the ladder is to go up p. 166. In this study, the researcher provided several pictures of the snake and 72 The example of fruits’ pictures the ladder inside of the board. The researcher also added several pictures of fruits to describe the theme such as banana, papaya, grape, orange, and apple. All the pictures inside the game were attractive, colorful, and interesting for children. The following picture was the part of the over-sized Snake-Ladder game. The researcher asked the students to pronounce names of colors to review the material about colors. It was assumed that the students had got material about colors before they learnt about names of fruits. The following picture was names of the colors.
