The researcher found that there were 6 types of swear words and 3 reasons for swearing used by the main characters of 21 st Jump Street movie. To sum up, it could be noticed that the types and reasons for swearing were related. The main characters of 21 st Jump Street movie had specific reasons for swearing when they uttered certain types of swear words. For instance, when Jenko or Schmidt was angry or disappointed psychological motive, they will swear fuck taboo or obscenity, or shit scatology. 43

CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter summarizes the findings of the research and presents their limitations. Moreover, this section also presents recommendations for future research and current practice.

A. Conclusions

After having investigated and analyzed the data as presented in Chapter IV Research Results and Discussion, the researcher came to the conclusion part. There were two research problems needed to be answered through this research as formulated in Chapter I. The first research problem aimed to find out types of swear words found in 21 st Jump Street movie. The second research problem was devoted to find out what were the reasons of 21 st Jump Street main characters to swear. There were six types of swearing which were employed by the main characters in the 21 st Jump Street movie. Those were cursing, profanity, blasphemy, taboo or obscenity, insult and slurs and scatology. From the findings of the types of swear words, Jenko and Schmidt as the main characters of 21 st Jump Street movie, prefer using taboo or obscenity as swearing expressions to using another types of swearing. There were three motives for swearing which were found in 21 st Jump Street movie. The first one was psychological motive pm, the second one was
