4. Selecting and Organizing Subject Content
In this study, subject content was selected and organized based on the results of the need survey and the Natural Approach theory. Therefore, the Natural
Approach was able to accommodate the students to learn English in various learning activities. There were three sections proposed in this study. Those were
pre-activity section, whilst activity section and post-activity section. Further, there were four parts to fit the three sections. The writer provided some activities in
each part to support the learners gaining the objectives of the materials learned. The activities in each part were based on Nunan’s the theory of teaching
vocabulary and the theory of the Natural Approach which deal with the classroom activities in early stages; pre-speech stage, early production stage and expanding
production stage. Those four parts are: Let’s Get Ready, Let’s Do It, Let’s Work It Out, and Let’s Sum It Up The descriptions of those sections are presented as
follows.
a. Let’s Get Ready
Let’s Get Ready is the pre-activity section as well as pre-speech stage. In
this part, the activities attempt to maintain constant flow of comprehensible input. The comprehensible input is presented with lists of vocabulary which students
will use in the next section. To lower the affective filter, the activities in this section are presented with singing a song and playing a mini game. This part also

offers the teacher a space to provide input by using simple commands in order the students to respond with gestures or body movement. Therefore, while doing the
activities, the students are not forced to produce some utterances because the focus of the activities is on the comprehensible input provided by the teacher.
b. Let’s Do It
Let’s Do It is a one of the whilst-activity sections and early production
stage. In this part, there are two activities that students have to accomplish. In the first activity, there is vocabulary list. Through the activity, the students will learn
how to pronounce each word. Although the Natural Approach does not recommend giving pronunciation activity in early stage of production, the writer
considers that it is better for the students to learn it early. The vocabularies will be central used for some activities and tasks in the unit to develop students’ speaking
skill which produce target language. Further, in the second activity, there is vocabulary practice. In vocabulary practice, the activities require the students to
reuse the vocabulary which has previously been introduced in the pre-activity section pre-speech stage and try to answer the teacher’s questions with short
utterances and phrases. The activities are presented in the form of vocabulary indentifying.
c. Let’s Work It Out
