the vocabulary listed in the preparation table and they have to be carefully paying attention to the part of speech of each of the vocabulary.
b. Vocabulary Focus This section will help the students to understand the vocabulary that they
have learned in the previous activity. In this section, students will learn the vocabulary using two kinds of activities, on the first activity Indonesian
equivalent was being used to help the students to get the idea of the vocabulary which they are learning. The second activity was using English equivalent, it was
hoped that after learning the vocabulary using Indonesian equivalent, the students will be able to recognize the vocabulary in English.
c. Learning from Input and Output This section is aimed at helping the students to learn vocabulary using the
Input Listening and Reading and Output Speaking and Writing. The activity in this section will lead the students to enhance their vocabulary through listening,
writing and speaking. The first activity will be listening; the students will listen to a recording and practice using the exercise. After learning the vocabulary through
several activities, the students will go to the writing part, in the writing part the students will have to do the written task based on the vocabulary and the topic
they are learning. The last part is the speaking part, the students will have to perform or practice their written work.
d. Reflection This section allows students to reflect on their vocabulary achievement.
Through reflection, students will share their experience or comments to the

designer of the website or to the teacher in order to monitor the students’ achievement. The reflection can also be used as input for the teacher for a better
teaching and learning activities.
5. Selecting Teaching and Learning Activities and Resources
Selecting teaching and learning activities are very crucial in the design. To create a motivating and interesting teaching and learning activities, the writer took
the vocabulary from books and dictionary, they are: Functional English for Senior High School, and Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary. The teaching and
learning activities and resources are also based on School Based Curriculum to maintain the output of the students in learning English vocabulary since the type
of the materials in the design are as supplementary materials. The importance of selecting teaching and learning activities and resources
is shown the material design. The importance is because the activities and resources used in the study will determine the look of the design and the
achievement of the students after learning vocabulary using the design. In designing the materials, the writer will rely on the selected activities and resources
to design the materials; from making the system of the website until selecting and making the materials to fill the website. All of this is done to achieve the
objectives of the study. Further explanation about the importance of selecting appropriate teaching and learning activities and resources is implied in part B the
Development of the website.
6. Evaluating-Preliminary Field Testing
One of the most important parts of the design is the evaluation part. This

part provided the writer with comments and suggestions to revise the designed material. The evaluation was conducted to one lecturer of Sanata Dharma
University, one English lecturer of Sekolah Tinggi Bahasa Asing STBA LIA, and one English teacher of Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 9 Yogyakarta. The
evaluation was aimed at getting the respondents’ opinion and suggestions toward the design in order to revise and improve the designed materials.
B. The Development of the Website
This part discusses about the development of the application which is the website. The website in the study was developed through several steps; they were
Flowcharting, Collecting materials, Defining object properties, and Scripting.
1. Flowcharting
Flowcharting is the way the learning task is conducted in the application, in this case in the website. Flowcharting will provide information on how the
activities are carried through linking system. There are four buttons Home, Exercise, Help, and Contact. The exercise menu provides eight 8 units and four
4 sections in each unit. The four buttons are linked to each other so learners or users can go to any
of the four buttons through one of the buttons, as you can see on figure 4.1. These four buttons will be the main buttons to access the website. These four main
buttons also provide learners or users with the basic information about the design. In the exercise menu, there are eight 8 units which are linked to the four
main buttons. There are two linking system here, the first is the linking system
