CHAPTER V CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION
This chapter provides two main points. The first point is the conclusions of the research results and discussion discussed in the previous chapter. The second
point is the recommendation which might be useful for lectures, students, and future research.
A. Conclusions
The research was aimed at answering research questions namely the classroom management conducted by the ELESP student teachers and the
classroom management problems which occur in the student teachers teaching practice. The conclusion drawn from the research results and findings are
presented in the following. Through a series of observations, questionnaire distribution, and interview,
it could be concluded that classroom managements were conducted by the ELESP student teachers. The classroom management which was successfully completed
was covenant management in managing the diversity. It covers student teachers combined female and male in group, involved all students’ participation, and took
part with the students’ activity. Furthermore, content management was also conducted by the ELESP
student teachers encompasses managing space, material, utilizing conventional equipment in equipment management, managing the movement of people, and in
85 managing the lesson. Similarly, conduct management was conducted by the
ELESP student teachers covering self-behavior management: student teachers showed friendly, used students’ name in the learning process, and student
teachers’ voice was clear and also students’ behavior management: student teachers gave reward or compliments to students.
In spite of that, there were components of classroom management which were not conducted by the ELESP student teachers covering content management
and conduct management. In content management, the student teachers did not conduct space management, such as small circle for work or discussion, electronic
equipment management, and people’s movement management, such as teachers managed the students in some groups with balance member. Further, conduct
management which were not conducted by the student teachers encompasses making rules or agreement, building students’ self discipline in individual work,
and correcting inappropriate behavior as in the students’ behavior management. Meanwhile, based on the research results and discussion several problems
occurred in the student teachers teaching practice. The problems dealt with content management and conduct management. The content management
problems were when the student teachers could not make contact with all students in big classes, manage the time, operate the electronic equipment in less than three
minutes, monitor the students and explain instruction clearly. In addition, the conduct management problems were when the student teachers could not build
students’ self-discipline and correct inappropriate behavior.
