E. Data Analysis Technique

The method used to analyze the data in this research is content analysis methods since this research deals with text related to particular issue. Therefore, interpretation becomes very substantial to analyze the topic in the research. Hsieh and Shannon 2005 explain that content analysis deals with interpretation that is really subjective about particular text through systematic classification processes. The interpretations about the issues were subjective because every people have different background and knowledge. Therefore, to get a better interpretation about the data, the data were classified systematically based on the objectives. After the researcher classified the data based on the objectives, the data were interpreted by the researcher in order to get new understanding about the objectives. The data which were in the form of words, clauses, phrases and sentences related to Beauty’s struggles against gender discrimination in patriarchal society in Wilson’s Cookie were interpreted based on the objectives of the research. The researcher did several steps to analyze the data as presented below: 1. Fifth, the researcher sorted the data to get more relevant data in the classification and excluded the irrelevant data; 6. Sixth, the researcher interpreted and analyzed the data and relate it to the theories used in the research to get the findings based on the categories of the research objectives; 7. Seventh, the researcher implemented data trustworthiness by doing triangulation.
