Sheaths 6 cm long, tubercle-based hairs, without keels. Ligule less than 0.5 mm long, a ciliolate membrane. Blades 16 cm long by 30 mm long, lanceolate-acuminate, with scattered bulbous-based hairs on both surface, scabrid towards the acute tip, base broad, abruptly cordate from a narrow attachment to the sheath. Inflorescence c. 30 cm long, a narrow panicle, very slender, with slightly rough spikelet-bearing branchlets above their bases, stalks of spikelets very slender, terete. Spikelets 2.6 mm long, numerous, ovoid, acute. Glumes similar, reaching apex of florets, thinner than fertile lemma.
