a. Students with Positive Response

Students with positive response are students who stated that they were able to follow the learning activities in English reading class. These students are those who give yes answer in the questionnaire. The number of this response did not always dominate students’ responses on a learning activity. Positive response dominated students’ responses in six of ten English reading classes where the researcher managed to distribute and collect the questionnaire. Students who gave positive response to the learning activities have various specific reasons. These reasons explained why students gave such response on the learning activities they had just had. From students’ reason for their response, the 52 researcher classified the reasons into nine general reasons. One general reason might represent more than one students’ specific reason. The followings are students’ general reasons for their positive response on learning activities they had just had: a. because students liked the learning activities they did in class. b. because students knew and understood what they should do in the learning activities. c. because students could take advantages from the learning activities which are useful for their study. d. because students like the English subject. e. because students like the ways how the teacher conducted the learning activities. f. because the learning activities enabled students to understand the learning materials g. because students had clear explanation on the learning activities and on the learning materials. h. because students were in good mood to learn. i. because students could enjoy the learning activities.

b. Students with Negative Response

Students with negative response are students who stated that they were not able to follow the learning activities in English reading class. The number of this response did not always dominate students’ responses on a learning activity. Negative response dominated students’ responses in four of ten English reading classes where the researcher managed to distribute and collect the questionnaire.
