the materials of noun phrase Mukarto, 2008 pages 8-37. The developmental pattern on identifying the noun phrase is presented in
Figures 4.1.
Figure 4.1: The developmental pattern of noun phrase identification at three groups
Figure 4.1 shows that increasing percentage was observed on identifying the noun phrase by three groups. Figure 4.1 indicates the percentage the noun
phrase identification increased as level increased. The percentage was used to cover the statistical data in describing the developmental pattern. It also indicates
the mean plot of developmental pattern of the acquisition of identification of noun phrase by Indonesian EFL learners by three groups. The plot provides an easy
way to compare the percentage for the three groups Pallant, 2011. It shows the

actual difference in the percentage between the groups is very small 63.53, 68.76 and 68.83.
The written test results were also analyzed using inferential statistics. The result of inferential statistic above 0.05 shows that there was a significant
differences at three groups and unsuccessful expectancy. The result of the statistical analysis confirmed that EFL learners who had development on the
acquisition of noun phrase as level increased, but there are not significant by Post Hoc Test. There is no significant increase found from the result of Tukey HSD
test Sig. 166 below.

4.1.1.2 The Developmental Pattern of Translation of Noun Phrase
As mentioned earlier, the test items on written test also describes the acquisition of noun phrase by EFL learners on translating. The acquisition of noun
phrase could be described too based on their answers in the second instruction of test. The written test consist of 12 sentences and there were 24 noun phrases. The
EFL learners also had filled the blank spaces to rendering the 24 noun phrases were chosen.
The figures 4.2 shows the percentage on rendering the noun phrase based on pre-modification noun phrase and post-modification noun phrase by EFL
learners. The EFL learners used noun headword for rendering the noun phrase well.
The developmental pattern of the overall translation of the noun phrase tested is presented in Figures 4.3

The Developmental Pattern of Noun Phrase Translation at Three Groups
Translating of NP
The figure 4.3 shows the developmental pattern of noun phrase translation at three groups; freshman, sophomore, and junior based on the scoring criteria in
content structure, language competencies, and communicative competence in a whole sentences by Indonesian EFL learners. Figure 4.3 indicates the percentage
of the noun phrase translation increased as proficiency level increased. As described earlier on previous figure, the mean score is rounded on percentage to
cover the statistical data in describing the developmental pattern. Correspondingly, the percentages of the developmental pattern of
translating noun phrase is similar overall based on the figure 4.3. The figures 4.3 also shows the mean plot of developmental pattern of the acquisition on rendering
the noun phrase by Indonesian EFL learners by three different groups. It shows the actual difference in the percentage between the different groups is very small
38.07, 40.38 and 42.17. The result of the statistical analysis confirmed that EFL learners who had development on the acquisition of noun phrase as level
increased, but there are not significant by Post Hoc Test. There is no significant increase found from the result of Tukey HSD test Sig. 306 below.

Figure 4.4. Tukey HSD of the developmental pattern of noun phrase translation at three different groups
To address the acquisition of noun phrase translation specifically, the statistical descriptive data was used to discover the pattern of noun phrase
translation based on test items. The percentage of noun phrase translation by EFL learners based on test item was presented in figure 4.4
Figure 4.5: The pattern of noun phrase translation based on test items
Figure 4.5 shows that decreasing percentage was observed almost half of test items overall. There are 18 items which indicate low scores under study, even
the lowest score was observed 9.34 on Q10B. Meanwhile, increasing percentage in the acquisition of noun phrase translation based on each items only in Q1A,
Q3A, and Q7A while in another items, the percentage tended to remain approximately the same.
