The figures 4.6 shows that increasing percentage was observed based on identifying and rendering the pre-modification and post-modification noun phrase
by EFL learners. The figure 4.6 indicates the pattern of the acquisition of noun phrase by three groups; freshmen, sophomore, and junior increased as proficiency
group increased.

4.1.2 Other Findings: The Patterns of the Acquistion of Noun Phrase Identification based on Components of Pre-Modification and Post-
Modification NP by EFL Learners
The developmental pattern of the acquisition of noun phrase based on the form of noun phrase consist of identifying and rendering the noun phrase on
written test and interview. Specifically, in the first instruction, the set of written test was designed by components of pre-modification and post-modification NP as
primary data. The writer found that there are significant differences percentage between each component on identification of noun phrase. The component were
classified on four types below.

As mentioned earlier, the general patterns of noun phrase identification based on the form of noun phrase was needed to have a global picture of the

Figure 4.7 shows that decreasing percentage was observed in 5 items of test; Q3A 49.47, Q4B 50.96, Q5B 41.40, Q6B 52.23, Q10B 31.21, and
Q11B 39.29. Those five numbers shows the percentage lower than 55. Meanwhile, increasing percentage in the acquisition of noun phrase identification
was observed only in six items of test; Q1B 90.45, Q2A 95.75, Q3A 98.09, Q7A 94.27, Q8A 94.48, and Q9B 90.45. Meanwhile in all the other test
item, the percentage tended to remain approximately the same. 1 The patterns of the acquisition of noun phrase identification based on one
