a. Exploration :

1. The students are divided into pairs, every group consist of 2 heterogeneous students, one as problem solver PS and the other as listener L. 2. Teacher gives worksheet to each group to get the value of π and find the formula for the circumference of a circle. 3. Every student in their group determine the value of π and the formula for the circumference of a circle. 4. Teacher guides students the way to get the value of π and find the formula for the circumference of a circle. 5. Teacher gives example.

b. Elaboration :

1. Teacher gives different problems in worksheet to PS and L about circumference of a circle in a problem solving. 2. PS and L learn their problem for 5 minutes. 3. PS read the problem and tell the L the step to conclude the problem. 4. L observing the problem solving process, ask if there is something less understood, or provide direction and guidance if PS had difficulty. 5. Teacher went around the classroom to observe and help smooth discussions. 6. After the first problem is solved, PS and L swapped roles and conduct discussions back as above. 7. One of group present the task in front of class. 8. The discussion of the two problems that have been given. 9. Teacher give reward to the best group.

c. Confirmation :

1. The students are given confirmation about the material if there are some misconception. Closing 1. Students are guided by teacher make conclusion. 2. Students are given homework by teacher exercises on students book. No Name Class Group Dimensions Categories Average Neatness True or False

I. Assessment

Guidelines for Scoring: Indicator Technique Type of Instrument Examples 1. To determine the value of phi. 2. To determine the circumference of a circle. Written test Written test Worksheet Worksheet 1. The comparison value of circumference K and diameter d of circle is called... The value of phi is ... or .... 2. A motorcycle wheel of radius 35 cm will lead the way as far as 2.2 km. How many times the wheel spins? ቀߨ = ଶଶ ଻ ቁ 3. The circumference of a motorcycle wheel is 132 cm. Determine: a. the length of radius of motorcycle wheel, and b. the length of the track made by motorcycle wheel if it rotates 100 times. No. Key Score 1. The comparison value of circumference K and diameter d of circle is called phi. The value of phi is ଶଶ ଻ or 3.14. 2 3 Total score 5 2. Memahami Masalah Given: Radius of wheel r = 35 cm Distance D = 2.2 km = 220,000 cm Asked: The number of wheel spins. Merencanakan penyelesaian pemecahan masalah Answered: The circumference of wheel K = 2 ߨݎ 1 1 2 ܭ = 2ߨݎ = 2 × 22 7 × 35 The number of wheel spin ݊ = ஽ ௄ Melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah = 220 cm ݊ = ஽ ௄ = ଶଶ଴,଴଴଴ ଶଶ଴ = 1,000. So, the wheel spins 1,000 times. 1 1 1 1 1 1 Total score 10 3. ݎ = 132 2 × 22 7 = 132 44 7 = 132 × 7 44 = 21 Memahami Masalah Given: Circumference of wheel K = 132 cm The number of wheel rotates n = 100 Asked: The radius of motorcycle’s wheel and the length of the track made by motorcycle. Merencanakan penyelesaian pemecahan masalah Answered: The circumference of wheel K = 2 ߨݎ ⟺ ݎ = ௄ ଶగ The length of track ܦ = ܭ × ݊ Melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah ܦ = 132 × 100 = 13,200. So, the radius of motorcycle’s wheel is 21 cm and the length of the track made by the bicycle wheel if it rotates 100 times is 13,200 cm. 1 1 2 1 3 1 1 Total score 10 Mark = total score × 0.4 Known, Mathematics Teacher Arif Dewantoro, S.Pd.
