Leaves of Popowia Endl. are simple, alternate, membranous characters or coriaceous, granular or subgranular in texture, glabrous, pubescent or tomentose. The leaves of most Popowia Endl. species vary in size and shape. Popowia pisocarpa Blume Endl., P. pauciflora Maingay ex Hook.f., P. fusca King, P. velutina King, P. perakensis King, P. tomentosa Maingay ex Hook.f., P. tomentosa var. crinita J.
