Based on the results of the questionnaire, the designed materials were good and acceptable. The total mean of the designed materials was 4.1 on the scale of 68 5.00. This meant that the designed materials were well designed and acceptable for the sixth grade students of SD Kanisius Kanutan. However, the designed materials still needed revisions based on the respondents’ evaluation, comments, suggestions, and feedback.

b. Respondents’ Comments and Suggestions on the Designed Materials

In the material evaluation questionnaire, the writer also asked the respondents to give comments, feedback, and suggestions on the designed materials. In general, they stated that the materials were well-developed, creative, and interesting, especially with the pictures used to support the materials. They also stated that there were variation activities and the materials can develop the students’ social skills through group activities. Moreover, the materials were also designed in line with Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan KTSP. However, the materials needed some improvements to develop the designed materials. There were seven points of suggestions, feedback and comments from the respondents. 1 The writer should revise some instructions because those instructions were too long and complicated. This would make the sixth grade students difficult to understand the instructions. The writer should make those instructions shorter and clearer. 2 Some indicators were not clear because there were some mistyped and some missing words. 3 There were some grammatical mistakes and mistyped. The writer should revise those grammatical mistakes and mistyped. 69 4 In What Have You Learnt? part, sometimes the students would find it difficult to write the reflection because in some units there were no provided questions. This would be better if the writer also provided questions in order to lead the students in writing the reflection such as in unit 4. 5 In It’s time to do the quiz session of unit 1, the writer should provide a checklist for the students. This checklist would help the students in giving their friends’ performance score. The checklist should consist of criteria in giving score. 6 The writer should give more games because games would be fun and interesting in learning English. 7 The instructions should be in Bahasa Indonesia because it would be easier for the students to understand what they should do.
