A. LET’S GET STARTED 1. Let’s write
Arrange the students to make a group of four. Ask the students to classify those animals into ‘farm animals’ and ‘wild animals’. Ask the students to write the name of those animals. Remind the students
that they can open their dictionary. Check the answers in whole class discussion. The answer of this part
B. LET’S DO IT TOGETHER 1. Let’s read
Activity 1 Divide the class into four groups group A, B, C, and D. Distribute text for group A, B, C, and D. Ask
the students to discuss and classify the animals into “mammals”, “reptiles”, “birds”, and “insects” based on the text. After discussing the text, ask the students to make a new group. Three members of
each group will join other three groups. This means that every group will have three new members from different groups. In each new group, ask the students to tell the discussion result from the
previous group so that all the students can write the animals classification. Texts for group A, B, C, and D are attached in the end of this part.
Activity 2 Ask the students to read and choose the right option to describe the picture by circling the word a, b, or
c. Read the text and asks the students to repeat after the teacher. Check the answers in whole class discussion.

Ask the students to work in the group. Ask the students to complete the sentences with the words in the box.

Ask the students to discuss the pattern of ‘ability’ in the group. Activity 2
Ask the students to complete the sentences with ‘can’ or ‘can’t’ in the group.
4. It’s time to do the quiz
Distribute the quiz sheets to each student. Ask the students to write sentences using can and can’t. Explain about the example provided on the quiz sheet.

5. Let’s listen
Ask the students to listen to the poem entitled ‘My Cat’. Ask the students to complete the missing words. Read the poem loudly maximum twice. Remind the students that they can discuss the missing
words with their group. Check the missing words in whole class discussion. Read the poem again and ask the students to repeat after the teacher.

Ask the students to choose a partner. Explain to the students how to play the game as in the students’ book. Practice an example of this game. Distribute the game cards to students A and students B, each
student gets 8 cards. Guide the students to play this game.
