He is one of the best Indonesian badminton players now. I am not surprised if you like him. Benny : How about you, Bet? Do you like sport to? Betty : Yes, I do. I like playing tennis and volleyball. Benny : Wow… The questions and answers 1. Who are talking in the dialogue? Benny and Betty are talking in the dialogue. 2. Where are they talking about? They are talking in the school yard. 3. What is Benny’s favourite sport? Benny’s favourite sport is badminton. 4. What is the name of Benny’s badminton club? Benny’s club name is Hard Smash Badminton Club. 5. Who is Benny’s favourite player? Benny’s favourite player is Sony Dwi Kuncoro. 6. Does Betty like sport? Yes, she does. 7. What are Betty’s favourite sports? Betty’s favourite sports are tennis and volleyball.

2. Let’s discuss

Arrange the students to make a group of four. Ask the students to discuss the expressions of like and dislike something. Ask the students to tell to their friends about activities provided in the box that they like and dislike and also the reason why they like or dislike.

3. It’s time to do the quiz

Distribute the quiz sheets to all students. Quiz A Ask the students to write 10 expressions of disliking the activities using the words in each number. Quiz B Ask the students to write 10 expressions of liking the activities using “like”, “be into”, “love”, and “enjoy”. Ask the students to write the quiz on a piece of paper. Ask the students to submit the quiz after finish. The quiz sheets are attached in the end of this part. 19

4. Let’s speak up

Arrange the students to work in group of four. Ask the students to look at three pictures. Ask the students to write a simple story script based on those three pictures. After they have finished, ask each group to present the group’s story in front of the class. Guide the students in presentation session. Ask the students to give applause after each group present the story. Ask the students to compare their group work with other groups.

5. Let’s read Activity 1

Ask the students to work in the same group. Ask the students to read the text entitled “THE TURTLE AND THE HARE” and lead them to discuss about the values of life from the story. Activity 2 Ask the students to answer the provided questions based on the text. Check the answer in whole class discussion. Questions and answers for this part 1. Who are the characters in the story? The characters in the story are the tortoise, the hare, and the kangaroo. 2. Why the hare laughed when the tortoise wanted them to race? The hare laughed when the tortoise wanted them to race because he thought that the tortoise could not run fastit was impossible the tortoise would win in the race. 3. Who became the judge in the story? The kangaroo became the judge in the story. 4. Why the hare decided to sleep? The hare decided to sleep because he thought the tortoise was still too far. 5. Who is the winner? The winner is the tortoise. 6. Why the hare was very surprised? The hare was very surprised because he knew that the tortoise was the winner. C. LET’S PLAY TOGETHER 1. Let’s us play “Find the picture” Activity 1 Prepare the students for this game. Explain to the students how to play this game. The direction of Activity 1 is on student’s book; explain each step clearly. Practice the provided example to make the students understand the expressions they will use during activity 1. The pictures are attached in the end of this part. Cut the pictures into pieces following the line cutting. Activity 2 Explain to the students what they have to do in Activity 2. The direction of Activity 2 is on student’s book; explain each step clearly.
