THE USE OF POWER POINT MEDIA IN SHIELDED METAL ARCH WELDING THEORY AT SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 3 YOGYAKARTA Wisnu Buntoro 08503242017 Abstract The background of this research is Shielded Metal Arch Welding Theory. It is often founded many concepts that have to be explained with visualization in order that the students can understand about the concepts that have been learned, such as for Shielded Metal Arch Welding theory. Because of that, it is needed a suitable media for visualize it one of the suitable medias is using power point media. Based on the explanation above, so it is wished that that the use of power point media can solve the problem in learning at school. Beside that, the use of Power Point media in Shielded Metal Arch Welding theory at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta can give influences to learning result and it can be become the alternative way for increasing and repairing the quality of learning in Shielded Metal Arch Welding Theory. The research place is in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Its address is in 62 Pramuka Street, Giwangan, Umbulharjo, Yogyakarta. The subject of this research is a class that gets Shielded Metal Arch Welding theory. It is the first grade of mechanical engineering TP at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. There are four classes in this grade, such as: Class I TP 1 as experiment class, class I TP 2 as control class, class I TP 3 and TP 4 as a class to decide the validation of tests experiment. The research method that is used is experiment method in Shielded Metal Arch Welding theory using Power Point media. The research design that is used is Post Test Control Group Design. It is through the treatment or special way, and the result of post test. The steps in this research are test instrument validation trial, doing special way, instrument trial that has been tested its validation, normality test, and T-Test. The data result of learning achievement in this class experiment is got the highest score 15, lowest score 7, range 11, 18. Both class that are tested distribute normal with the price of Chi count quadrate x 2 it is 8, 14 for experiment class. And 10, 94 for control class. The price of count x 2 is smaller that the price of table x 2 with the signification level 5 , that is 16, 92. So, the result is normal. The result counting of T-Test is counted 4, 32 and table is 2, 02. Based on the T-Test, the price of count table, so it can be concluded that there is a different achievement between experiment class and control class. Based on the normality test and T-Test can be concluded that a Power Point medium that is used can support the process of learning and give influence to the learning result of students.
