Beberapa manfaat teh putih, yaitu sebagai proteksi terhadap penyakit kardiovaskular, kanker, diabetes melitus, obesitas, sistem saraf pusat, dan
penyakit infeksi. Proteksi terhadap penyakit kardiovaskular didapat dari sifat teh putih sebagai antitrombogenik, aktivitas hipotensif, anti inflamasi, aktivitas

2.10.2 Komposisi Kimia Teh Putih
Komposisi utama yang terkandung di dalam teh putih meliputi, protein, polisakarida, polifenol, mineral, trace element, asam amino organik, lignan, dan
metilxantin, yaitu kafein, teofilin, dan teobromin Seeram et al., 2006; Moderno et al., 2009. Polifenol pada teh putih yang merupakan derivat utama dari katekin
ialah epicatechin EC, epigallocatechin EGC, epicatechin-3-gallate ECG, dan
epigallocatechin-3-gallate EGCG.
