d. Diglossic code-switching

In the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163, the researcher discovered that there were 2cases of diglossic code-switching type. Based on the theory in chapter two, Wardhaugh 2010: 85 states that “a diglossic situation exists in a society when it has two distinct codes which show clear functional separation.” More, as presented by Romaine 1995, there are two distinct codes which show clear functional separation. The two codes are H High and L Low. In this study, the researcher found that there was a motto from You Tube being written in feature article of Pulsa tabloid. The researcher considered this as a diglossic situation because it used high level of codes. The idea was you tube used the motto to promote their web so that there were many people visit the You Tube web. In order to give a clear explanation on this type of code-switching, the researcher provided an example that was taken from the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163. e. Integrated loanwords code-switching

In the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163, the researcher discovered that there were 61 cases of integrated loanwords code-switching type. As it was presented previously in chapter two, integrated loanwords code- switching is the switching that occurs in the morpheme level. According to Hornby 1974: 549, “morpheme is the smallest meaningful part into which a word can be divided.” In this type of code-switching, one could add affixes from the native language to the foreign language, such as to add prefix di- from Bahasa Indonesia to the English words upload. So, there would be a new formation of words that is di-upload. The Possible Reasons for Code-Switching that is Most Frequently Used by the Writers in the Feature Article of Pulsa Tabloid Edition 163 To obtain the answer of the possible reasons for code-switching that is most frequently used by the writers in the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163, the researcher used the seven reasons suggested by Hoffmann 1991 and the verification of one of the writers of Pulsa tabloid. The researcher discovered that there were only three possible reasons that could be identified out of seven see table 4.2. Below, the researcher gave a detailed explanation on the possible reasons discovered in the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163.
