b. Phrase code-switching
In the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163, the researcher discovered that there were 221 cases of phrase code-switching type. As it was
presented previously in chapter two, phrase code-switching is the switching that occurs in the phrase level. According to Azhar 1989: 257, a phrase is “a group of
related words that does not contain a subject or a verb.” In this finding, the phrase code-switching that were discovered did not contain a subject or a verb. Most of
the phrase code-switching cases that were discovered in the feature article of Pulsa
tabloid edition 163 consisted of nouns only. In order to give a clear explanation on this type of code-switching, the researcher provided five examples
that were taken from the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163. 1

c. Sentence code-switching
In the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163, the researcher discovered that there were 19 cases of sentence code-switching type. To remind
what sentence code-switching is, the researcher referred to the theory written in chapter two. It was explained that sentence code-switching is the switching that
occurs in the sentence level. According to Bram 1995: 39, “...a sentence – a simple one – must express a complete thought, have a subject and at least a finite
verb; a subject and a finite verb are the two minimum requirements for a simple sentence.” In this finding, the sentence code-switching cases discovered in the
feature article of Pulsa tabloid contained a subject and a verb. In order to give a clear explanation on this type of code-switching, the researcher provided five
examples that were taken from the feature article of Pulsa tabloid edition 163.
