Beneficial mycorrhizae increase the productivity and quality of crops grown on marginal lands. One example of the development of marginal lands by post-mining land use karst rocks. This land has a level of decomposition of organic matter slowly due to low soil moisture, a state that has lost top soil so that soil fertility is reduced and land is very vulnerable to the threat of soil erosion processes. To overcome the problems of karst land in this study, the efforts made by combining mycorrhizae with a variety of growing media composition is by addition of top soil and organic matter. Experimental research was conducted in March until January 2010 in the green house of Agriculture Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The purpose of this research is to study the infectivity and effectiveness of mycorrhizal fungi to the growth and yield of maize Zea ma ys L., at various growing media composition in the form of organic material straw compost, manure and the addition of top soil Alfisol, Inceptisol on land post-mining limestone. Experiments in this study using Completely Randomized Design CRD with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is the composition of the planting medium K consisting of 6 levels are: K1 limestone Inceptisol + top soil, K2 rocky limestone Inceptisol + top soil + manure, K3 limestone top soil + fertilizer + straw Inceptisol compost, K4 + limestone top soil Alfisol, K5 + limestone top soil Alfisol + manure, K6 limestone top soil Alfisol + straw + manure compost. The second factor is the source of mycorrhizal inoculum M consisting of 3 levels:: M0 without mycorrhizal inoculum, M1 natural inoculum of the landmark, Salatiga, M2 artificial mycorrhizal inoculum of IPB. Data were analyzed statistically using the F test followed by DMR test level 5, and the correlation test to determine the relationship between variables. The results showed that the highest mycorrhizal infection on mycorrhizal infection the limestone top soil + straw compost fertilizer Inceptisol + + source of natural inoculum Andisol by 59.44 and 39.68 highest than control. Provision of mycorrhizal inoculum on maize plants 7HST age not given real influence, while for the age of mycorrhizal inoculum 63HST very real influence on the limestone treatment Inceptisol + top soil + manure + source of inoculum Natural Andisol has the highest value of 72.67 cm. This type of natural spores Andisol have a better ability to adapt to the soil environment to grow and infect the place and form hyphae on the root absorption area of the plant so the roots will increase. Provision of mycorrhizal inoculum source derived from soil rhizosfer Andisol on some kind of treatment provides a real effect on P uptake in commit to user xiv corn plants with the highest value of 1.13 mgpot of limestone treatment Alfisol + top soil + manure +source of inoculum Natural Andisol.
